Ok i wanted to take this guy to prom. Since it is only my prom and not his, who should pay? Is it right for me to pay for my dress and then the rest of the expenses splt the cost between us?

A prom is just like any other kind of date: If you do the inviting, you do the paying. He of course should pay for his own tux, and buy you a corsage (if he's any kind of gentleman) but you should buy the tickets, your dress, and pay for transportation.

I asked a guy from another school to my prom and I bought his ticket and bought my dress. If you think he might be willing to split the cost, go ahead and ask him for his opinion.
