I think it's not really the loss of life that bothers them.... it's more of the fact that seeing the words "Jehovah's Witness" makes their blood boil, eyes bulge (or water, or both).
They don't mind people dying on the battlefront leaving behind widows and orphans. But should a JW dare leave behind a widow and orphans because of his devotion to God..... GRRRRRRR!!!
That's just how it is, my sister.

Because most people in the world are nuts!
They would rather justify the loss of many innocent lives, than respect the feelings of a person whose faith in God means his or her obedience even if it means "only" their death, and not a group of people/
Go figure!
Also, a lot of it has to do with 'brainwashing" there are some people who HATE the name Jehovah....for reasons only they know.....and some don't even have a reason, they just follow along with what is popular. No different than a racist who holds views about people they have never given themselves an opportunity to try and know......they have been told one thing.....and heck, if it's good enough for mom, dad, and all the others, why not them too. Sad, sad, sad!

I think that the Lord Jesus Christ expects Christians to follow the commands of his apostles and the holy spirit.
"For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well." -- Acts of the Apostles 15:28, 29 King James Version
To 'abstain...from blood' is not just a human requirement, it also involves the Holy Ghost (holy spirit) and is not something that a Christian should treat lightly.
Besides, non-blood treatment options are available today for most medical emergencies, even those as serious as open-heart surgery.
One of the elders in my congregation is a survivor of bloodless open-heart surgery. He is alive and well, WITHOUT using any blood transfusions.

A lot of churches foster those views toward JWs. They don't want them to like us or they might listen to us. They sell little fold outs in the religious stores about JWs and how to answer them, in fact they have whole books on the subject. A little brain washing perhaps?
Edit: Good one Hunter!

That is because of Satan.
He loves it when people kill each other, that is why he is called a murder and a manslayer. Jehovah hates murders. Satan and his world do everything that is against god's well.
Satan is the ruler of the world, and when a Christan dies for Jehovah god, then Satan and his world get mad. 2 Cor. 4:4
They just don't like that. LOL

oh I think alot of people flip out on the first account. If you want to refuse help to prolong your life that is up to you but when you refuse it for a young child that could have a long and normal life otherwise then I flip out.

don't have any idea what you are talking about, but the gift of a blood transfusion is indeed a gift from God, not to be refused. after all who is the one that gift even a posibility. who is the one that gave science the ability to tranfuse blood, surely the JW's don't believe men gave themselves that gift, for all good things come from God.
