I see a lot of people say this: "I am so broke so I can't even get gifts this year for my kids"
Why not save up throughout the year for the holidays.. or start early enough.. a little here and a little there... so you won't have this problem come December? It's as simple as saving $20 a paycheck to have enough at Christmas to make your kids happy and bring them a little joy at Christmastime. I know what you will say.. "Christmas is more than just gifts" which is true and I agree.. but then kids also believe that Santa will bring something if they are nice and not naughty throughout the year, right? Happy Holidays!

The sermon this Sunday made me realize the importance of memorizing scripture. It was about how the old nature is crucified and can no longer control us, but it can still speak to us and make suggestions to us (just as Jesus was able to speak while He was on the cross). When our old nature speaks to us, we have seconds to respond. If we know scripture, then we can respond correctly and quickly. Our pastor gave this example...he was at dinner with his family and was asked if he would like to sample the wine. He thought that it would be nice to relax with a glass of wine, but pastors are not to drink wine (I Timothy 3:2-4) so he recalled the scripture in his mind and declined. He went on to say, that if he were a deacon and not a pastor, that he would have been able to sample the wine (I Timothy 3:8) without it being sinful. We memorize scripture so that we can rightfully act when we are tempted by our old nature. Any thoughts?

Isn't it possible that the story of Adam and Eve or Genesis were just allegories of evolution. Making the earth in 7 days (the big bang theory), God making Adam and Eve (our evolution, not from "monkeys", but ape like creatures).

And don't give me,"Well, the Bible said it, so it must be true, der her her." I already have an answer for that:

In the book of Leviticus, it says that any child who curses his parents should be put to death. Now, if you are going to believe one thing just because the Bible says it, you should believe all of it. You can't just pick and choose, right? (According to some of your beliefs.)

Christians only............., No Mormans, Muslims, or Islamic, whatever your gods are i dont need em'

One cant get saved and go drink and then think that he needs to be saved again, shouldn he just repent RATHER than get saved again, So this states someone is always saved and just should repent, but if one takes the covenant serious he shouldn go drink to begin with

Ok now where in scripture does it state that once saved always saved, or if one messes up should he be saved again???

Me and my boyfriend who I am suppose to be marrying met when after a started to study the Bible Teach book. We have been going to Hall together for about a month. The girl that I am studying with is now making a big deal out of it say that since he is baptized and I'm not that we can't be dating. I am a non-Baptized publisher. I plan on getting Baptized soon enough just waiting until I am 100% ready. Before we ever started dating he talked to the guy that he studies with and told him that he can make his own decisions in that catagory but they don't recommend it because there are risk. And told him that he should be very cautious. Which we are we don't ride in the same vehicle together and we are never alone together unless we are in a very public place. We are getting 2 very different answers from each of our study partners. I'm very confused. I don't know which answer to go by. Someone please help me out here.

... think that the death threats directed towards John Lennon for saying in 1966 that the Beatles were bigger than Jesus were equally disgusting?

(Yeah, sorry, it's another bloody teddy bear question. But I don't think this one has been done yet.)

I have a coworker who is not working with me anymore. I really liked her as a person. She made friends with most everybody here. But whenever she was told about the church or Christianity she got angry. She would find little things about people who went to church and say look at that. He is suppose to be a Christian and he is doing that. But when she told me about what she was doing it was ok. She had been through multiple abortions. Also, she told me she would get with people who would make a drug called meth at home. Her teeth had little holes in them and for some reason she had lines on her skin like someone scratched her. Actually, she was really fun to talk to and read a lot of books. My question is how come someone can do things that are first of all illegal and criticize Christians for looking at girls lustfully or something like that. I don't see how some people cannot see what they are doing is wrong also. What I mean by wrong is illegeal drugs and things like that.

I am very religous and I am used to going to chruch every sunday. My bf on the other hand is religous also but he never goes to church. I was talking with his parents and I found out that their pastor got caught embazling funds and the chruch fired him. After that they said he stopped going church and would fight tooth and nail about going. He has not been to church in 4 years. I talked to him about it and his answer was I believe in my own way I don't need some crook manipulating the words of god to make himself prosper. I told him that not every pastor or priest was like that and he goes well even if its a .00000001% chance I still will not risk it. I don't feel like wasting another 17 years of my life listen to a priest and find out hes a fake. I didn't really know what to say to this. Is it ok if you believe in god but don't go to church? Anything else I can do? He is Italian and very stubborn.

He said it's written all over the scriptures.

...that putting X-mas isn't a bad thing. Me and my mom always thought it meant crossing the Christ out of Christmas, but at Church our pastor TJ told us what X-mas really meant. The greek word for Christ is Χριστός but back in the day the romans and greeks just wanted to Abbreviate Χριστός so they put X-mas! Just trying to spread the word b/c I know alot of people don't realize this!
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Kwanza to all of you!
