Sacrificed without choice, yes, maybe. We can say free-will all we want, but people have a natural need to comform to society not fight it, hence the over-welming problem your seeing.... so its not the individuals problem right now, its society, which makes it a tad unfair to brow-beat the individual, but that won't stop us will it =-)
