I am! It has been a long week at school.
Thunder and Jesus have been my saving grace.
Aide stole candy from me. Tyler, Jairus, and Cameron got in a fight at recess because someone said those dreaded words, "Yo Mama."
ShaQuavia made Valeria cry when she called her "fatty."
However, some of them were angels.
When the weather changes, they get frisky.

Have a great Veteran's Day, everyone!

Here's another bad one I've heard from them:

"Why did it use to be okay to kill gay people according to the Bible (Leviticus 20:13)? I know Christians no longer believe it is okay to do that, but I have almost NEVER heard a Christian say it was did not USED to be okay thousands of years ago in the time of Moses. Why would God base such an extreme on when you happened to be born? So, did it USE to be okay to kill gays at one time? Yes or no?"

Here is my rebuttal. Yes, death was justified at one time for homosexuals, BUT it ONLY applied to Jews and ONLY to those who actually had sex. Also, the penalty for ALL sin back then used to be death. It wasn't just for gays.

God requires a sacrifice. Blood must be spilled. This is why animal sacrifices were offered in the Old Testament. When Jesus came, he changed things, so animal sacrifices were no longer necessary and executions for sexual sins were no longer necessary. He wiped those those sins clean for those that repent.

Agree?

or are they aware that they are Protestants to start with?

I've seen a question here about where the name "Protestants" came from and what the Protestants are protesting about, that's why I thought to ask if the majority of Protestants no longer know why they are being called as such.

Surely now would be a great time to be doing them, but all we seem to get is Jesus's face in a slice of bread. Nothing that has been filmed, of tested, of proven to be miraculous. Why is that? When we were far more privative we got loads. Isn't that strange?

I picture him as a healer, with great compassion and laughter, surrounding himself with beauty and treading dark dark paths amidst suffering.

And I see him laughing, and crying in sorrow and understanding.

(I am not religiously Christian, I do however believe in the Christ consciousness and Christ as a spiritual man, if anyone wonders or cares)

The Kingdom Interlinear Translation (a Greek Interlinear) reads:

"This but is the everlasting life in order that they may be knowing you the only true God and whom you sent forth Jesus Christ."

The NWT translated it as "taking in knowledge of you" BUT the Greek text in the KIT says something quite different..."they may be knowing you." We need to know God through Jesus Christ in order to have everlasting life. All the knowledge in the world will not save us.

Yet the Watchtower Society, by altering the scripture here accomplishes two things in its own self-interest. First, since they dispense "knowledge" through the printed page, it follows that they want their people to be forever "taking in knowledge". Thus the distortion to fit their preconceived ideas. Secondly, they do not want their followers seeking after a relationship with Christ, but dependent instead on their organization. What do you think?

I see a lot of posts on here from people complaining about being white and not being allowed to call black people n****rs, people insisting that all Muslims are terrorists etc, etc.

So, my question is, how many of you consider yourselves to be racists?
I ask because most of the people I know are pretty liberal and I've been shocked at some of the statements made on YA, so I'd like to better undrstand where these pople are coming from.

In 13 hours I will speaking to people who are depending on me. Just looking for some insight and how I may expound on these two verses and perhaps some connecting verses. Trying to make a point or two with a conclusion.

I'm trying to figure out how to get my email to youhmchrch.

"I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own -- a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotisms." Albert Einstein

I love lighting up a nice bowl of Vanilla cavendish. The hot, sweet taste of the smoke dancing on my tastebuds. The way the smoke swirls and dances in the air around me, as my living room fills with the sweet warm aroma of the tobacco, is almost hypnotic.

P.S. Don't even try to compare cigarettes to pipe smoke in smell, taste, and fullness. It is apples and oranges my friends, apples and oranges.

When you look at yourself and notice your two eyes, two hands, five fingers, one tongue, and so on.

Then you look at an ape. The ape got two eyes, two hands, five fingers, one tongue, and so on....

Just wondering why a creation worthy of Gods love and sacrifice like the human is so freakin' similar to an ape....

In fact dogs and cats and pigs got very very similar traits like humans...

We do concieve ourselves as special and sons of God.

Perhaps we aren't all that special...not anymore than the animals amongst us.

Just ponder over that...ponder of who is the one that thinks humans are so special..

Is it we humans ourselves that think we are special..or is it want we want to believe?

In that case anything can be written in a book to explain our special privileges as humans anyway we like..

The Bible is a very good example.

Oh well, back to the question...we and apes are very similar.....
a coincidence or naturale?
