Assalamualikum to all my brothers and sisters of Islam , deep down I am feeling sad about the unjust point of view towards Islam.Just because a few uneducated arabs(Afghanistan , Iraq) who kill people the whole Islam community must bear the shame and the blame. Islam is a peaceful religion which had been send down by revelation towards prophet Muhammad to the people of the worlds not only for the arabs. It is first sent to the arab because they are horrible and cruel people which kill their own daughters. So please , all non -muslims pls dont treat Muslims as murderers and terrorist because we are frm the religion Islam taken from the word 'salam' which means peace. To all Muslims out there pls spare me some ideas on how to repair the image of Islam which had been sabotaged.Assalamualikum -May Allah's blessings and peace be upon you

Bible data: The 3 Eastern astrologers, star gazers, or what have you who came to pay homage to the baby Jesus were practicing a sin that in the Bible carried the death sentence when caught! But since they were looking for Jesus in the stars they are OK! (Bible Ethics 101) These Heathen kings were very stupid! They came all the way to the Royal Palace of King Herod the Roman client King of the Jews to ask him candidly, "where is the newborn king of the Jews?... for we have seen his star in the East” and so on... BTW, this newborn king is the rightful king of the Jews!

God had to protect baby Jesus and told the Heathen kings not to go back to King Herod, but to sneak out of Judea without telling anybody (Bible Ethics 101). King Herod got mad and sent his troops with a royal order to slaughter all the Jewish baby boys up to 2 years of age. God said that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. A lot of innocent blood was shed at the birth of Jesus Christ already!

In South Korea there are millions of Pentecostals and more rising....Does this tell us the Holy Spirit is giving up mostly on America and going elsewhere?
America needs to be on her knees crying out to God to get us in the Holy place he has called us to.

I'm not dropping in now, I am ccomming down in a parachute and am holding an American flag, with R.I.P. on it. PASTOR FRED PHELPS, of the Westoro Baptist Church. I saw the post, and before I begin, let me say:this is not about whether or not we should be fighting in Iraq or Afghasistan, this is not about Christianity verese another other beliefs. Please do not post answers on this subject. This is about the DISGUSTING behaviour, of a Baptist Minister and his followers, turning up, to demonstrate at the funerals of American killed in the line of duty in a war zone. Any war zone. Because in their "tiny and twisted" minds, they have somehow come to the conclusion that God is judging America,(And the other countries who are involved as well), by killing their troups because of tolerating gay people. I read the post, and then read the article, and a horrible nausea hit my stomach. In my mind I saw the pain, of the families, grieving over the loss of a loved one, and in addition to that.

Hebrews 6: 4-6 (NASV)

4For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,

5and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,

6and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.

Now I'm often told that it is possible to understand the Bible better not by taking passages, but by reading them in context. But even IN context with the rest of Hebrews chapter 6, or even the rest of Hebrews, this appears to say exactly what I think it says, namely that it is UNFORGIVEABLE to be an apostate (Be a Christian, and forsake the faith).

Tell me if I'm wrong, and if so, what the actual interpretation is. If I'm not...doesn't that mean there's no point in trying to convert me, being that I used to be, and am not now, a Christian?

I've read in a book in the past that talked about relationship and dating. I can not remember what book i read it in but i know its in the bible, i just can't rememeber what book it was out of and where the verse was. But the general idea was:

Knowing two years to know someone before making any commintment issues.

I was wondering who I could "visually map" my tastes, to express them as how they may be different than someone else's. And see if I could draw a collage/montage that expressed it.
Where I'm stuck is I'm not sure If I'm asking myself the right defining questions: Here's how far I've got:

I love sushi, and hate well-done steak.
I love silence, and hate background music.
I don't like advertising, but I work in it.
I love cashmere to the point of having eight (8!) grey v-neck cashmere pullovers. I hate manmade fabrics.
80% of my entire wardrobe is light-blue to dark-blue. Another 10% is pink. I am straight, male, and not afraid to wear shoes decorated with flowers.
I liked, through the years, heavy metal, punk, jazz, French chansons, Italian canzoni, and now silence.
I'm a very good skater - ice or inline, a goodish rock-climber, a very bad driver (I live in the middle of a city). I never learnt a musical instrument and I regret it today.

That's me. Your turn. Paint yourself in words

Often when expressing our love it seems as though it isn't always received in love.

"Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed." Hebrews 12:11-13

I had a discussion with my roommate a week ago about gay marriage. I told him as a Christian I don't support homosexuality and by extension I don't support gay marriage. He accused me of being a homophobe which I think is ridiculous. I am not scared of gay people at all. I do not agree with their lifestyle but I am not afraid of them which is the literal definition of homophobe. So I'm wondering does it truly make me a homophobe not to support gay issues?

I am just wondering, do nouns after "any" need to be in plural form or singular form, or are they both acceptable?

Sentences such as:
1. Do you have any idea what I am on about?
2. Do you have any ideas what I am on about?

They both seem okay, can you please clarify which one is correct?

There are others such as:
Do you have any drink/drinks in the fridge?
Did you have any conversation / conversations with him?
Do you have any pen / pens with you?

Would someone who is good in standard English, clarify this for me?

Lo! religion with Allah ( is ) The Surrender ( to His will and guidance ) . Those who ( formerly ) received the Scripture differed only after knowledge came unto them , through transgression among themselves . Whoso disbelieveth the revelations of Allah ( will find that ) Lo! Allah is swift at reckoning .

Say ( O Muhammad ) : Lo! the guidance is Allah ' s guidance . that any one is given the like of that which was given unto you or that they may argue with you in the presence of their Lord . Say ( O Muhammad ) : Lo! the bounty is in Allah ' s hand . He bestoweth it on whom He will . Allah is All Embracing , All Knowing .

I know, I asked this yesterday afternoon...but, playing to a new audience this morning. :-)

The Southern Baptist denomination, (the largest protestant denomination in the world), formed because they supported slavery....they broke from the Northern Baptists, and thought slavery to be ordained by God. The institution of slavery is a Biblical principle. In 1995 the Southern Baptists at their convention finally apologized for their role in slavery...a little behind the times, dontcha think?

Anyway, if they, and other conservatives, were wrong about such a big issue as slavery...how do you not know that they are wrong about other issues of our day...such as homosexuality? Slavery and homosexuality are both addressed in the Bible?

How can anyone align themselves with such a denomination, knowing the terrible things they did.....in the name of God, and justifying it on the Bible? How can you give credence to anything they say or stand for?
