I'm not dropping in now, I am ccomming down in a parachute and am holding an American flag, with R.I.P. on it. PASTOR FRED PHELPS, of the Westoro Baptist Church. I saw the post, and before I begin, let me say:this is not about whether or not we should be fighting in Iraq or Afghasistan, this is not about Christianity verese another other beliefs. Please do not post answers on this subject. This is about the DISGUSTING behaviour, of a Baptist Minister and his followers, turning up, to demonstrate at the funerals of American killed in the line of duty in a war zone. Any war zone. Because in their "tiny and twisted" minds, they have somehow come to the conclusion that God is judging America,(And the other countries who are involved as well), by killing their troups because of tolerating gay people. I read the post, and then read the article, and a horrible nausea hit my stomach. In my mind I saw the pain, of the families, grieving over the loss of a loved one, and in addition to that.

I saw the wives, with young children, the girlfirend, who were expecting that boy that they loved to come home and put a wedding ring on their finger. I saw the little children, who would grow up, never knowing thier own father. I saw the mothers and fathers who daughters or sons had been killed. I saw their tears, their hearts, hurint like a knife had just been thrust straight into them. And then I looked at the photograph of this man turining up at these funerals, with thier nasty, infidel banners. And I was ashamed, and very angry. I wondered if Jesus Christ, went to the funerals of Roman Soldiers, who were killed, in battle, and held banners up, saying God ws punishing Rome, for the same thing. BUT HE DID NOT. He healed a Roman Centurians child, he loved everyone. He ate and drank with the people, The Pharasees (The awful religious leaders of that time, hated). Everywhere He went, he loved and cared, except when it came to the Pharsees. He called them "white washed tombs". Meaning.

Outside the wer white as snow, but inside, like a tomb, they were rotting, sticking bodies. And I say this to Pastor Fred Phelps, AND any members of ANY church Baptist or whatever, this man and his followers are ''WHITE WASHED TOMBS". They do not belong in the Christian community, and have for years tried to block, what Christ wanted the church in the Book of Acts to do. They are a maniacal CULT, and should be catogerized as that. And as a Christian I want to say, to say to ALL the families who have lost loved ones in the war:- I "APPOLOGISE" for this disgusting group of people, and say to The Baptist Church in America, WHY, do you allow this to happen under the banner of the Baptis Church?
Thank God the one family were compensated, but that will never, bring back their son and it will never erase the memories of these hateful people demonstrating at the funerals of yur sons and daughters. Pastor Fred Phelps, I hope you see this. You are, without doubt, the epitome of what evil is.

YOU ARE TRULY, "WHITE WASHED TOMBS". Clean and washed on the outside, but rotting, like dead people on the inside and in your tiny mad minds.

Dear Justme (Annelle) I am so happy to have you back here. Your courage, wisdom, advice, and questions, mean so much to me. I wish we could contact each other. I sincerely support you on this issue. I was a 7 year member of a Baptist church, Tithing like Jesus asked us to and the preacher was great and then all of a sudden he was not acting or leading like a true man of God. Many of us left and it was heart breaking. He hurt me deeply, and many others too. I do believe though that not all Baptist churches are like Pastor Demonstrate or, or Pastor Control Freak. A also agree that the Baptist Church Counsel should do something about this! These kinds just turn others off to Christianity or religion in general...what a travesty. God Bless you for speaking up in a world where Christians are often put down these days. I will pray for these families, and I pray for you as I pray for all the world's people.

My son saw it on Fox News and told us about it. We were thoroughly disgusted and the Baptist Church, should do something. Why can't the Politicians and the Government put through laws that ban any protesting at funerals? My heart goes out to those poor families, not only the loss of a loved one, but having to put up with these idiots, with their own Doctrines and Agendas. I have to agree with Goldwing, somehow, people should get together and raise money to help sue each and every member of this group.

I have not heard about this incident but it was certainly NOT the thing to do!!!
I am a christian and I do not support war however I do show the utmost respect for any who has lost their life for what ever reason and for the grief of the families and those left behind.
If what you say is true then that pastors actions were disgusting and I can say that he is NO christian.
A true christian would NEVER do such a disrespectful, insensitive, hurtful and unloving act. You are right, he should be ashamed.
There is only ONE judge and that is God not some pastor who thinks he has the right to pass judgement on other people.
He is very lucky that one of the relatives didnt take a swipe at him and smack him down!!
Do you have a link to this story I would like to see it.

thank you Just Me for stating
(close to) what I would have said if I had known about it.
I only heard of it this morning
and didn't get the whole story
then.
This is beyond belief and I'm
sure that True Believers would never endorse this
extremely radical behavior
as legitimate. It's sad to say,
but there are many preachers
nowadays who are preaching
and teaching God's vengeance. Many churches
today call themselves Christian but are taking their
congregation back to the
old testament and the LAWS
(that were never intended for
true Christian believers.)
People of today are getting
a misconception of who Jesus
is and the "crusader" preachers are leading people
down a very unChristian path.

Again, I will say, these families need to locate pics of all the protesters, identify them with name, address..and publish their pics ON LINE with name, address, and if possible, email addresses!
Now, if I were a family member, I would bring civil suits against each and every one of them for causing unnecessary pain, I would sue for about 100.00 each, and 1,000,000.00 each for punitive damage...it is much easier to get punitive damages than real damage on pain and suffereing. I suspect there is not a jury in the US that will not make a favorable judgement. The chuch can NO LONGER hide behind tax laws, for they are playing politics! The IRS, I am sure, is already involved, and when that "church" status is removed, there will be NO PLACE these monsters can hide. In fact, were I one of the families, I would institute law suits to the same effect...politics and religion do not mix in this country, ALL moneys ever collected must be accounted for, and all moneys, going back to the formation of that "corporation" are taxable, as well as all salaries, etc. Tax laws have brought down the biggest in this country, and punitive damages can ruin anothers life from now on..there is little that can be done to save anything unless you are very rich to start off with, and then, like OJ Simpson, you can hide behind trusts...but even he has run out of luck! Personally, I am surprised that terminally ill Gays have not gotten out the guns and blasted away...It is simply amazing what a little well place fear can do to right the wrongs of others. Blacks learned this lesson in the sixties! I suspect it is just a matter of time before this happens. I am not advocating this, but will be surprised if it is not a headline soon.
And by the way, I was targeted by an old troll here yesterday, now buried, but will be back. Please come back and add your wisdom and fun. We miss you. Trolls do not get to me in any way...in fact, I find them amusing at times. Goldwing

I agree with you and I also agree with Sage seeker and GW, sue the individuals of the church, the ones that followed him.....
They have no right to judge anyone....He was in Iraq to serve his country, that is what the military does......God will come to judge Pastor Fred Phelps and I assure you, God have mercy on his soul, because where I stand, Pastor Phelps is not going where he thinks he is........It angers me that he(phelps) acts this way, but i know in time he will pay......God will come to judge the living and the dead and If Pastor Phelps thinks deep enough, he knows he will be judge harshly....or at least i like to hope so........
I will pray for the families that are going through this terrible tragedy and hope they find peace in knowing, Pastor Phelps in not a man of GOD.....and that they do not lose their faith in God.....
My heart goes out to them all.........

The situation was disgusting. A minister SHOULD know that a funeral is not the place to make a political statement. The families should be left alone and given the space they will need, to grieve. People like this give the anti-war movement a bad name.

Even just as disgusting is the reaction from the pastor, Fred Phelps, who feels the judgment will "elevate him into something important." If somehow like-minded people emerge to support the church's disgusting views, I can only hope those people ply these slimy creatures with enough money to satisfy their $11 million debt to the Snyder family. His daughters are just as hideous. What a shameful group.
On another note, it's good to see you Justme!

I smell "Mein Kampf" again. He is clearly insane with a warped faith. Even more scary is blind hopeless followers. I lose faith in humanity when I see people like Phelps. Proof that anyone can start a cult. Whole groups of people will always be willing to follow like sheep.
On another note, I do thank inventors for big iron birds and parachutes. ;)

Where is law enforcement in the cities where this is is taking place? This is an invasion of privacy, who issued the permits for these christian imposters to assemble for there insane demonstration. As a baptist I feel like suing them for calling themselves baptists. Go after the officials who are condoning this. They cannot assemble legally without permits.
