How many Christian men were told this when growning up?
That masturbation is selfish, sinful, and other things to make boys feel guilty for something they can't help.

My family moved from Poland to the US when I was 8. We were still under communist rule when we left. My great-grand parents were killed in front on my grandmother during WWII. My grandmother was forced to do slave labor for 7 years. My parents suffered because of the poor economy and communism. We moved to the US with $350. Dad worked on a mushroom farm for low wages. Dad and mom learned English and forbid me from speaking Polish. We truly struggled and endured hardship while in Poland and our first few years in the US. When I told the girls my story they acted like they suffered far worse. They said whites should pay them reparations. Next they said that whites hold them down in society. I told them communism is slavery. Then they said (and I quote), "stupid little white girl actin like she know bout slavery, you ain't black, you don't suffer ****, everything was handed to you." This isn't true! Those girls are not slaves and never were. Why the attack on me when I lived through it?

Does L Ron Hubbard make more sense than any other writer in the past 4000 years? Jesus and Mohammed were the prophets to God, but since they have been gone for so long it is hard to prove they weren't fanatics. L Ron was here just a few years ago and he was available to query without going to a church and his answers came, not in the form of a burning bush, but in dialog. I just wonder if it is easier to have faith in something when it is physically available.

listen...i need help with a name for the praise band for my youth group. I am the bass player. The youth pastor told us to get a few names so we can vote on them and decide on a youth group band name.

here's a few things about our band:

We have 4 (sometimes 5) people playing.
Our church is a southern baptist church.
the youth group is called 1-8-t (or 180) we called it that because we are making the complete turn-around towards God
we play every sunday night
we have 1 lead guitarist (who is also the youth pastor and lead singer), i bass player (me), a backup singer, and a drummer.
the fifth person is also a guitarist.

so after all those things about my church's youth band i need you to give me some ideas on band names,

not " the 1-8-t youth band" please or anything so "original" (by the way that was sarcasm

I admit, I haven't studied evolution in depth. But I thought I had a pretty good understanding of it. Until the other day someone on this board said I didn't understand evolution because of a statement I made. The statement was something to the fact of for the theory of evolution to work, animals that eat plants would of had to evolved first before animals that eat other animals. This is the way I think of it, plants would have to evolve first, then plant eating animals, then meat eating animals. I know it is not that simple, but wouldn't that be the basic idea? And I am talking about macro-evolution, not micro.

Is my thinking flawed? If it is, can someone please shed some light on what I am missing?

I posted this on the biology section too, but I know a lot of Evolutionist are on R&S and this is actually where I was "corrected".

How can you argue scripture?

Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Luk 1:47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
Luk 1:48 For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
Luk 1:49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me,
And holy is His name.
Luk 1:50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him
From generation to generation.

Notice her pointing out Mercy. Mercy is not getting the things we deserve.

Grace is getting things that we don't deserve. If she was perfect, she deserved it.

He was even going to pierce his own Mother's soul:

Luk 2:34 Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, "Behold, this Child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against
Luk 2:35 (yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed."

For anyone that's read the books, did you find anything in there that was particularly 'anti God'? I didn't. (Excellent books btw.)

For people who believe in God it won't change their minds.

For people who don't currently believe in God - it'll open a world to them filled with angels, Gods and daemons. Impressionable types may confuse this with reality and open their minds to the possibility of God existing...

I.e. If anything, won't it turn more people towards religion? What are the God squad frightened of? Do they feel like they're letting God down by questioning his existence?

If God exists, he's a big boy. He can handle it. Why not question his existence and believe in him all the more afterwards...?

Where are you?
What kind of bike did you ride as a child?
What is the email address of your local police department?
Who is your service provider?
Do you bank online?
Would you email my friend at this address & wish them a happy birthday?
What type of soft are you currently using?

Sounds harmless until you see them in a list.

If you have ever answered questions like these , then you are not alone.

I ask you...ARE THESE SAFE to answer when hackers are everywhere & most seniors are using old systems?

In the book of James, the inspired writer exhorts: “Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith shall save him that is sick, and the Lord shall raise him up…” (5:14, 15).

Some suggest that oil was employed as a daily item of toiletry in ancient times.
A number of writers contend that the oil of James 5:14 was merely a medicinal item.
Some scholars think that the “anointing” referred to by James was simply a refreshing, encouraging act of friendship.

The sick are still among us. And virtually no one questions the fact that the church should have elders today, where qualified men can be found. Should elders, then, in connection with their prayers, be anointing the sick with oil?

G/gods with their blood sacrifices, martydom and blood atonements, illustrate the the utter barbarism of ancient religous practices. We could dismiss it as merely the passe superstion of primitives if it wasn't still considered sacred today.

How did premeditated deaths become the ultimate show of love to a G/god? How does a G/god use blood sacrifices to e/affect a desired result?

Thanks in advance

Would you think it possible that the hidden message in the sin of Adam and Eve was something like "eating" (attachment to desire) the "fruit" (result or outcome) of "knowledge" (action or inaction)? Would you agree that it is indeed the mother of all sins, something that is still happening to Mankind even now?
