43 as of October 1st. Based on current data, odds are at least one more converted in October, so until the new data hits the newsstands, I'm going with 44.
Am i right?

L Ron Hubbard never said he was a god or a prophet, just a man. He founded a religion. Scientology embraces the idea of a Supreme Being, altho not theChristian concept, it is still part of the religion so I don't see why it's any more likely that an atheist would become a Scientologist since their whole argument is based on : No God no Supreme Being, NO higher Powers, just the material/physical universe as a result of..... (Big Bang?)

I am not a Scientologist, but I believe they accept people no matter their religious beliefs. Don't become a Scientologist though, they are a cult that just wants to take all your money.

Not me. I think that Scientology is a scam. It's easier to see religion for the scams they are if you don't have a thousand years of history (and emotions) attached to it and you can observe the fallacies of the belief system when its leaders are still alive (Hubbard went to prison for financial issues and was a science fiction writer -- it's not hard to add up the pieces).
Plus, you can show that the miracles of the belief system are baloney, and examine the claims before centuries of hearsay occur.

Because athiests can really be divided into two different groups, based on their reasons for disbelief.
The first group are people who try to apply rationalism to their daily life and thought, and find that the answers religion offer up do not logically signify. This group is not really a candidate for any relilgious belief.
The second group of atheists are usually people who really critique religion because it failed them personally, or that its rules were too demanding. So, without realizing it, they're really looking for a faith that's all about them, even if it's a bunch of pseudo-scientific hogwash such as Scientology.

I have no idea how many have, but not this atheist.
I tried to read "Dianetics" about 15 years ago. I was searching for something to replace religion, and I thought "Scientology has to be brilliant.. it's about science, after all!"
Cut me some slack. I was only 20 :p
The book was boring as hell and I threw it away.
Now that I'm older and I hope wiser, I see Scientology for what it is: a crazy cult. I'll pass.

I t seems the atheists actually have a threat level for religious organizations. I saw this about how they were going to rally and fight the oppresive scientologist who were sneaking in while the athiests were targeting the "mainstream" religions. I did not know the fight against religion was so organized. Newsletters, rallies, fight songs.... I have a mixed feeling of pity and indigestion.

L. Ron Hubbard was a fraud and huckster con man that created Scientology for the expressed purpose of ripping gullible people off and stealing their money.
