I keep trying to ask good questions that will earn stars I tell you it's not fair that a question like:
Do you know what's going on around you? earns 9 stars
am I the only one that thinks thats not fair?

Sometimes I think of that when I consider my faith, or when I experience doubt.

Billions and billions of people believe in Jesus Christ - people smarter than me, more educated than me, people who have been through much tougher times, wars, famine, upheaval... and still they believe!

Who am I to doubt?

I showed a friend at work the below Yahoo Answers question and her take on it wsa that white people have historically acted better than other people and she wished she wasn't white. She also said she wished she was "her own race". I disagreed and reminded her that throughout history nation has fought against nation and peoples of all races have been discriminated against because of differences, I gave the example of "Irish need not apply". But her reasoning seemed to be that since white Americans were the "last people" to exhibit that behavior, then we are most guilty of it. This person is only 26 years old, is white with a northern European ancestry. Is she exibiting "White Guilt"? And, if so, how can I help my friend get over it?

Okay, a few points here. First of all, yes, I am quite secure in my own beliefs, I am asking these questions out of blatant curiosity. Secondly, I am not in the least impartial. I am very specific about what I believe. Third, I believe that faith is very personal and subjective and therefore different for everyone, even those who practice the same religion.

Having said that, here is my next question.

If you can openly admit that you are secure enough in your own faith, enough to believe that your ideas of faith only apply to you and not everyone on the planet, then how can you argue with these two points?

5. People who do not follow my idea of God will not go to my idea of hell.
6. Heaven and hell, if I believe they exist, are there for the followers of my specific faith depending on how they live according to the rules of my specific faith.

i don't carry cash because i have already been robed twice and lost money more then a few times in my life and i have found its just better to use my debit card for everything, it is also a good way to monitor my spending as it is all listed for me on my bank web page. just today i was buying a soda at a convenience store, it was 1.29 and i used my debit card , the Russian cashier thinking i didn't understand his language was on the phone and said "this f%6#$ng jerk is buying a Pepsi with a credit card ,what the f*7%K" first of all it clearly states its a debit card though it can be run as credit, second of all why would it matter? if it costs them extra to process credit/debit cards they can charge a surcharge so it shouldnt be that. i cant be the only person who never uses cash.

well mine is
i was pretending to be a goth for like a week to get back at an OLD friend of mine. i failed dramaticly. rougly two months after words i started listening to musicl such as slipknot, metalica, enter shakari and iron maiden. the weird thing is i feel better about myself after it all.

A lot of people use the phrase "teacher's pet" to describe others. Some people probably aren't really teacher's pets...
There's an invisible line between being a good student and a teacher's pet. What I'm wondering is:

WHAT IS THE LINE?
How do you know when you've crossed over the line?

Also: I have this one really nice teacher.
I help her with things (like organizing, alphabetizing, etc.), and I'm in her classroom a lot.
I don't suck up to her because of grades (I like to EARN my grades), and I always am telling her I don't want her to think I'm sucking up but that I think she's a really good teacher and I like helping. I feel like I can talk to her about my problems (and I'm generally a quiet person unless I open up to you, which is rare) but I always tell her I'm wasting so much of her time even though she protests and tells me that she enjoys talking to me
Do you think I'm acting like a teacher's pet?

A woman and a man are involved in a car accident on a snowy, cold
Monday morning; it's a bad one. Both of their cars are totally
demolished but amazingly neither of them are hurt. God works in
mysterious
ways.

After they crawl out of their cars, the man is yelling about women
drivers. The woman says, "So, you're a man. That's interesting. I'm

Even if you insist 'God' had a hand in it, why can you not accept that perhaps God used the lightning strike and atmospheric chemicals to 'create' the first life form (a microbe)? Have you religous freaks ever considered that God can use science too?

Here is my view...
No-one has any proof of a god (fact)
There may be some supernatural force acting on the universe(my opinion)
But what I don't get is how people are so arrogant to truly believe that their guess on religion is correct, and refuse to accept that others may be true???!!!

Today i found out from one of my acquiantances at the gym that he has been going out with this girl for two months,but not to tell anyone,because me and another guy are the only ones he knows)However,For a bit,she would pass by me alot try to be in my section and even engae in friendly conversation with me.Today when i found out,i decided just to leave the matter alon and just be casual with her,anyway today she continued to be very friendly with me,but why would the guy tell me,if he only told another guy?And why would she act this way?
