A better question would be how many people will go with the LORD when HE returns for the second time. Praise the LORD.

First of all, from an objective standpoint Catholics are clearly Christian.

That being said, there are more Catholic Christians than non-Catholic Christians.

Branch Number of Adherents
Catholic 968,000,000
Protestant 395,867,000
Other Christians 275,583,000
Orthodox 217,948,000
Anglicans 70,530,000

As I'm sure people above me have already mentioned, Catholics are Christians. But they aren't the only Christians. So Christians as a whole would obviously be more than just one group of Christians. See?

It's like asking, are there more New Yorkers or Americans. Get it?

Catholics are Christian.
Isn't belief in Jesus as a god, the miracle of the Resurrection what makes a Christian?
If so, Catholics are Christians. If not, then 95 % of Christians are not christian.
So, more Christians. But there are way more Buddhists and Hindus than all Christians combined.

Catholics ARE Christians. The question you're looking for is : Are there more Protestants or Catholics in the world?

As Catholicism is a subset of Christianity, there are more Christians, just as there are more living things than there are humans...

If by "Christianity" you mean your particular breed of Christianity, that depends on what you include in what does count as Christianity, as you aren't using the standard definition.

If "Christians" in this sense means all non-Catholic Christians, then they are roughly equal in size.

If by "Christians" you mean all non-Catholic, and non-Orthodox Christians (as the Orthodox groups are similar to Catholicism) then Christians are in the minority.

If by "Christians" you mean Protestants not including Mormons and some others, then Catholics are an overwhelmingly larger group.

Well both parties believe in Christ, but if we were to seperate them as such there are more Catholics in the world than protestants. I believe the official rankings for the world are Catholic, then Lutherans then Baptists. However, in America there are more Baptists than any other denomination, and I don't think Catholics are even second here in America.

Where, oh where, did this mistaken notion start? Catholics ARE Christians!!! And what's more, I'm guessing you know it, but you (that's a collective "you," since this keeps coming up) seem to think it's a good excuse to insult Catholics by pretending you do not know.

The Catholic church was the first established Christian church. They are still Christians. Really.

I'm not even a Christian myself, but I do get annoyed at this under-handed method of insulting Catholics.
