While attending a Marriage Seminar dealing with communication,
Tom and his wife Grace listened to the instructor,
"It is essential that husbands and wives know each other's likes and dislikes."

He addressed the man, "Can you name your wife's favorite flower?"

Tom leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and whispered,

"It's Homepride, isn't it?

names when elected or were running for whatever elected positions, what names could you come up with to show their backgrounds? I mean like Joe Soaring Eagle, Mary Runs With Horses and such? Like George W. Cheated At School and Dick Bilks The Public?

I have 2 kids. boy is 3, & girl is 9. Little man, we already keep "fairly entertained" by taking his hotwheels cars, a couple bible children's books for him to look at, a bag o' cheerios, and he gets to "draw" on his sister's notebook too. My daughter, brings a notebook that she constantly writes "I'm so bored" on, wont actually bother READING the bible stories book, and just overly acts bored, and doesnt even remotely pay attention. How can I at least get some of her interest into paying attention when we attend meetings....or look in the bible book for kids book.......... what do you do to entertain your kids when u are in church.
FYI: Relgiion is kinda a new thing for us....... so they werent raised in religion before this, and it's hard for them

As far as I'm concerned I believe it has been, there is so much proof. I mean isn't genetics enough to prove this? I don't know but it seems to me like you would have to be foolish to not believe this theory.. but I guess people used to believe the earth was Flat. Okay well I know how scientific theorys are extremely hard to prove, but I still don't get why even though its only a theory which has much proof why a lot of people don't believe its true.

Look at these..

My question requires a little set-up, so bear with me:

2000 yrs ago, they were saying "My God helped me slaughter the women and children of my enemies because I'm so righteous!"

1000 yrs ago, they said " Oops, that wasn't right. That genocide thing was wrong. They were ignorant, but in this modern age, I have all the answers. My God helped me get all these slaves because I'm so righteous!"

And 500 yrs ago they said "My God said to punish Copernicus for daring to say the Earth is not the center of the universe!"

Now they're saying "Oops. That terracentric thing and the slaves -- that was wrong. They were ignorant, but in this modern age, I have all the answers. God said I could condemn gay people and judge anybody who doesn't think like me and pass laws to teach my religion in public schools, because I'm so righteous...."

Anybody else see a sort of motif running through here?

All these Christians right now are trying to force stores like Wal-Mart to say Merry Christman rather than Happy Holidays. I am perfectly fine with calling Dec 25 what ever you want. However, if you guys get to say Merry Christmas to non-Christians, then Jews should be allowed to say happy hanukkah to Christians without them getting offended. And Muslims should be allowed to say whatever the celebrate without Christians and jews getting offended. And atheists should be allowed to say happy holidays without anyone getting offended.

I live with my widowed mum (I'm 36). I've always lived with her and I work full time. We get on extremely well together. I am not married, as 'it's just not happened yet'. I'd loved to be married one day, but can wait. Mum and I enjoy each other's company very well and go out a lot together. She is my best friend too. We do have our own very few friends of course, but we have no family whatsoever (all dead). The problem is, I have had comments made by christians at church like, "You can go places without your mum you know" and from a pastor, "You really need to try and detach from your mum, as it looks like you do everything together but have the sex!" I feel I am being judged and also being a christian, I feel it is my duty to (1 Tim 5 v4) look after her, in which I have no complaints about. What do you think? I love my life with my mum.

I believe in Wicca, but have natural psychic power, so I have never had need of a spell. Do any of you know of a safe, easy protection spell I can cast to keep a particular person away from me? I don't want to hurt him of course, just keep him away.
Thank you in advance.

You teach that only a 144,000 of God's chosen ones will go to heaven..You teach that it is not 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel..Right?
I was reading, and wondering about Matthew 19: 27-28..Its says..
(27) Peter answered him , "We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?" (28)Jesus said to them," I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Doesn't these scripturers point to the direction that the 144,000 in Rev. will be 12,000 from the 12 tribes.?

I help with the youth group at my church (I'm 20) and I'm planning a lock-in for the girls of the group. I want to show them a couple of movies and then do a short bible study on them. Does anyone know a good place to get bible studies for movies? The movies are "The Painted Veil", "Jacob Have I loved", "One Night With the King" and "The Nativity Story."
Of course, I know that the last two I can make my own study because they're the Bible, but I was looking anyway.
Thanks!

I'm not talking about proof. Proof is required for something you know. Evidence/reason is required for a reasonable belief.

Refer back to the question, I WILL respond to all who disagree.

Thank you all for your answers!
