It's just a personal belief. If it came to having to kill or be killed, I'd pay lip service to being a believer and not believe in private.

That's quite possibly the dumbest thing I've seen yet....No people don't usually kill in the name of atheism, in fact I've never heard of it...it's usually in the name of god.Why do people assume that atheists are automatically killers? Peace.

i sure hope I don't have to kill to defend my right to NOT believe in God...or however you meant it... I would kill to protect my family though

To defend my right to BE an atheist...if there was a group of people trying to forcefully take away my rights, then yes. I could.
I wouldn't be the aggressor, though.

How or why would I kill anyone to defend my lack of belief in god, it makes no sense....
I would be very hard pushed to find a reason to kill at all, and disbelief is certainly not one of them!

Of course not. 'atheism' isn't an ideology.
That's like asking if people would 'kill in the name of asexuality'? or if they would 'kill in the name of 'atypical'?
Senseless.
I would kill in self defence though.
