What is a nice way to get around the hand shaking thing? I just hate it when someone puts out their hand for me to shake and I don't want to hurt their feelings, so I shake it.

The thing is, I don't like to shake people's hands, because I know way too many people who don't wash their hands like they ought to.

Help me! I don't want to be rude, but I don't want to pick up all their gross germs either! What can I say to get out of it???

There are certain fundamental similarities. This is attributed by agnostics to co-optation,by the Church to mere coincidence. But what about the possibility of a common origin? Zoroastrianism spawned Mithraism concurrent to cross-germinating with Judaism, which spawned Christianity. What about the possibilty of a roughly common origin in terms of both Christianity and Mithraism having roots in Zoroastrianism? Has any scholar ever considered a common- orgin proposition?

I was reading the Iliad, and it said Niobe turned into stone after 9 days of grieving of his children's death...what does that mean? Did he die?

People worship the cross they pray to the cross and yet no one considers it an idol. Just like people having pictures of what they represent to be Jesus and they pray to them

thou hast praised the agods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
Daniel 5:23

The cross can be wooden and it can be gold and it definetly should not be idolized as it is.

What angers me the most is that even though it is symbolic of Jesus' death many just wear it because it is "pretty"
and they dont understand the meaning behind it. But all together it shouldnt be worn.

I would like to express using a good word. For instance , we know a saying like " Don't judge a book by its cover." This is a good expression to tell someone not to judge a person by his/her look. Someone did the bad thing to influence my life so I am writing a letter, and I want to know if there is a good expression. Thank you.

A participant on this site recently told many atheists that they, the atheists, "believe in lack of belief".

I don't know what that means... someone explain.

Evolutionists, whom I will refer to in the future as "realists", believe they evolved from apes. So, if they fell out of a tree or something, they only had to fall say twenty feet. Now, creationists believe they came out of heaven or some other undiscovered place. So when they fell, they fell a few thousand billion light years directly on their cranium. So, How far do you have to fall to have some sense knocked into you?

Moses foretold (with some additions by Jeremiah and Jesus) that the ancient Jewish nation would be conquered twice and that the people would be carried off as slaves each time, first by the Babylonians (for a period of 70 years), and then by a fourth world kingdom (which we know as Rome). The second conqueror, Moses said, would take the Jews captive to Egypt in ships, selling them or giving them away as slaves to all parts of the world. Both of these predictions were fulfilled to the letter, the first in 607 B.C. and the second in 70 A.D. God's spokesmen said, further, that the Jews would remain scattered throughout the entire world for many generations, but without becoming assimilated by the peoples or of other nations, and that the Jews would one day return to the land of Palestine to re-establish for a second time their nation (Deut 29; Isaiah 11:11-13; Jere 25:11; Hos3:4-5 and Luke 21:23-24)
Do YOUR fairy tales do that?????

I was flipping through the channels last night and came across a preacher talking about sinners. He was talking about how ever since the 1800's people never seem to talk in their churches, etc. about praying for sinners. He didn't understand as to why people thought as if they would be praying for Satan. However, to be released from evil as the point for prayer.
I agree, and think more people should do this.
Do you agree?
Do you think it could make a difference in society?
Have you ever helped a sinner? Would you consider helping a sinner?
I assume that would make you a Saint?!
