Some nonchristians have stated keep religion in church or at home. Is this because you feel we shouldnt be allowed to speak of Jesus in public (parks, malls, city streets) etc or just not in schools/govt buildings to maintain separation of church/state? Please clarify

like when you ask a question sometimes people only bring out negative things out of it making you sound like a complete horrible person when they dont really know you & when the question has nothing to do with the subject they're talking about. does anyone understand what i mean?i mean sometimes i feel people just find me to be this snob when its not even the case or the way they think it is & its just annoying.

so. a long timeago, i slept over at my best friends house and we ended up making out. before this, we'd never done anything like that... maybe kissed on the cheek once or twice. we'd grown fond of holding each other for extended periods of time (more than half an hour). and since then, everytime i sleep over, we end up making out... we flirt with each other and we both experience urges and sesntations when we're together normally, such as butterflies.
so, i'm guessing this is a dumb question, but ...? experimenting, phase, or... ?

Luke 16
The Rich Man and Lazarus
19"There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

22"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23In hell,[c] where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'

25"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'

27"He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, 28for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'

29"Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.'

30" 'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'

31"He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' "

How can people be so blind? This makes me sad because I have a family member that has fallen away into atheism. I don't know what to do.

Only by accepting Jesus can your sins be washed away. I heard the analogy before that non-Christians are like people drowning at sea. If someone throws them a floatation device and they REFUSE to take it and drown, they have no one to blame but themselves. Likewise, God does not send non-Christians to Hell, they send themselves.

I don't want my brother to go to Hell for not accepting Jesus. At times this may seem unfair to me as to why God would do this. I realize though that we are ALL sinners and we ALL deserve Hell, yet God loved the world so much that if we accept the sacrifice of Jesus, our sins might be washed clean.

It is not a hard thing to do, yet I sometimes wonder about how fair this all seems. I know it is the truth because I have faith.

I just feel uneasy about it sometimes.

What can I do to get over this feeling?

The question is simple. Try to answer the question instead of going off on some tangent. Don't rant. Answer the question. The question is:

"If Hitler was a real Christian, is Osama a real Muslim?"

Acceptable answers will contain either the words YES or NO, and most likely be followed by an explaination why they either believe YES, or NO.

Here's the question one more time for those of you who are still confused:

"If Hitler was a real Christian, is Osama a real Muslim?"

Don't forget to include a YES or a NO in you answer.

I was watching Whoopi Goldberg's Special, "The word according to Whoopi and I posed this question in my AP Lit class since we were discussing language usage in literature. Apparently, Yahoo thinks that the N word is worst, because when I wrote it in it's true form they replaced it with astricts. Note also that the,"N" word in the dictionary means an ignorant person.

Can you do it?

I see atheists question the Bible all the time and ALL they do is rehash recycled questions that have ALREADY been explained and rebutted by Christians.

Leviticus 20:13 should be banned from being mentioned on this site as this has already been explained hundreds and hundreds of times. Ever heard of the straw man argument? That's what atheists are doing when they mention that verse and many others.

Agree?

I like starting early, it gives me something fun to focus on, like baking and finding new recipes. Every year I like to try a new one. If you have a special Christmas recipe maybe you would like to share it.

i live in california. i went to sedona for the first time. my boy was the ring bearer. my friend now lives half an hour from there. she said she will drive out to see me and what day is good? i felt too polite to say not at all.
we arrived friday, the rehearsal was that night. saturday morning was free and i'd hoped to see the town at least. nap time is noon (he's three), and the wedding was at four. we left sunday morning. i spent my free hours saturday sitting in my motel room with my friend and her four year old twins. (three monkey's jumping on the bed). it was 10:30 am and too late to get out. i urged her along because we had to prepare for the wedding. no big deal. two weeks later she came to my town. she notified me and told me where she was staying. i told her i'd keep friday free and what did she have in mind. she said well, i told three other friends that i was in town and i'll wait to hear from them. wow.

I grew up Catholic and I believe in the Church's teaching. However, I've been taking a class at school about the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. (it's a required course)

I've been discovering a lot of stuff about religion, the God and the Bible that are eye opening. I've learned that the Bible has a lot of violence, and that God is really portrayed as someone to be feared and not to embrace so openly. Like God is very vindicitive and not "all-loving" as religions (not just Catholic) make him out to be.

What should I do? I believe in the New Testament, the Saints, etc. But, I've never really been exposed to the Old Testament before and it paints a very different picture of God then I had been lead to believe.

What should I do? I'm a bit confused about religion. I want to remain Catholic, b/c I believe in God. But, I'm not sure in what form to believe (the good God or the vindicitive God)?

I was listening to the radio on my way home tonight to a local Seattle talk radio station. The host was Jewish and very upset about what Ann Coulter said about Jews on the Donny Deutch show recently (She said they needed to be perfected) A woman caller calls in and is obviously shaken up and spoke of her grandparents who were French Jews and the most wonderful people in the world, etc. She then said something that made my skin crawl and something I knew would start to happen if this hate crime bill is passed. She said Ann Coulter should be arrested for a hate crime for saying that about Jews. I would like to know from all persons from all beliefs or lack thereof what you think about this. If possible, look at it objectively not just from the standpoint of not liking Ann Coulter or Christianity in general. Thanks and Gods peace.

My response to the question by "Joan" about Al Gore and the Nobel Peace Prize was reported, I recieved a violation notice and it was deleted. I will repeat my answer. It was a stupid ignorant question. Does this person not understand what the Nobel Peace Prize is about or are they just really bad at trying to be funny. Either way it was stupid. That is my honest opinion. Obviously the person who reported it (probably the asker) is immature and revengful. Who ever did it should grow up and learn to take what they dish out or get offline. This kind of thing happens a lot in this group. Not to me but to others. I have noticed a lot of answers and questions disappear soon after they are posted. This is rather childish and immature and it is sad that they are supposed to be coming from mature people. If you want to be respected act in such a way as to deserve it.

Well, he calls it the Squirrel cage because he feels he is nutz. lol I liked the name and adopted it for myself.
