I'm a messianic believer (a Torah-observant Christian who has adopted a few Jewish traditions), and I think the objections are silly. Coulter didn't say anything new or radical or even unusual. She repeated one of the central tenants of Christianity, the Great Commission. It's the same thing that Christians have been saying for two thousand years, so why in the world would anyone be shocked about it now? (In fact, it's the same thing that almost all religions, including some elements of Judaism, have said since their inceptions.) It all strikes me as so much political posturing. -yk
P.S. You sure ask a lot of questions!

First of all, no one takes Ann Coulter seriously anymore, except extreme right-wing psychotics (she is, after all, their patron saint). Coulter lost any credibility she had a long time ago.
As for what she said, it's so vague it's difficult to qualify it as "hate speech." After all, what does what she said actually mean? It sounds like the kind of obscure phrase which is meant to do exactly what it did: Stir people up. Personally I think she was just playing with people's heads (again). More than anything, she needs to be ignored.
By the way, I'm an atheist, which is another group Ann Coulter doesn't like (not that I care what that fascist party doll thinks about anything).

Its not a hate crime, its just plain ignorance and stupidy.
Comments like that are unecessary, and have no backing. Jews and Muslims could say the same thing about Christians.
Ann Coulters just a dumbass.

saying what you think, even if no one else agrees, is not a criime in America. Causing physical harm based on your thoughts is.
By the way, even tho I am not a Coulter fan, I did read that interview (or excerpt) and she never said she hated them or intended to harm them, she made no threat.
ps. I do believe there is a God, but I profess no loyalty to a religion

it relatively is surely in undesirable style, exceptionally via fact the neighbor positively is conscious Ms. Lynch is a witch. yet i would not call it a hate crime for the time of the Halloween season. If it became into up interior the spring, i might say you had a case. i think of Ms. Lynch could post a extensive cauldron and a life-length doll that feels like the neighbor in it, with crepe paper fireplace below it.

Hate crime is a joke. Every one could take a few words and turn then into hate crimes.
Freedom of speech will be totally lost.
Evey word spoken by a white person offends someone now days.
But other races can say the same words and its no problem.
I had a friend who beat up a guy for pinching his wives butt.He went to jail for 6 months was sued by the illegal and won. White husband ,Mexican man hate crime.
But White husband had a Mexican wife. Go figure.<><

i can't stand ann coulter...she makes my stomach turn...but a 'hate crime?' not in this country! if free speech is only protected for the kinds of opinions we agree with, it's not a right, it's just a theory...the answer to repulsive ideas is not censorship, it's the expression of better ideas...

I hate Ann Coulter and I think she is a racist lunatic. However, free speech is protected in this country, and that includes hate speech. I don't like the idea of making hate speech a crime, because who decides what constitutes hate speech? I'm sure there are people on R&S who feel that much of what atheists say on here qualifies as hate speech.
I hope Ann Coulter is stricken with a disorder that makes her mute, but I don't think she should be arrested.

I hope most christians do not believe as Ann Coulter believes. However, from my knowledge and experience with many christians, they do feel that they are superior than all the non-believers, and that perfection can only come when they all convert to christianity.
I am hoping that some christians will disagree with me. I am very much hoping that this is so.

If everyone were arrested for saying negative things about a certain race, gender, religion, etc., our prisons would be overrun. No, it is not a hate crime. A crime does not constitute stating one's opinion, right or wrong. That's what the 1st amendment is for.
