If you have the nerve, go to the link and read the article below. Then tell me why you still cling to the impossibility of life evolving from primordial soup? Soup? I think I'll go make some, or maybe if I wait long enough it will just appear on the kitchen table!

but they follow the same theme.
Is it someone disablity

etc

If you answer in a positive manner it has not helped some users feeling any better.

What do you think about it all

Until then, we are dead..sleeping.

If you don't know what the definition of a atheist is here it is..

as a philosophical view, is the position that either affirms the nonexistence of gods or rejects theism. When defined more broadly, atheism is the absence of belief in deities, alternatively called nontheism. Although atheism is often equated with irreligion, some religious philosophies, such as secular theology, or some varieties of Theravada Buddhism, lack belief in a personal god.

I submit my step-father for evidence. He firmly and quite adimitly believes in a 6,000 year old Earth. (He is very disappointed in me that I don't follow suit, LoL) Yet my step-father has signed the papers that when he dies he wants his body donated for Science purposes.

He isn't the most brilliant person in the world. But he is a good person. He is a hard worker and loves his family and I look up to him in so many ways. Even though he may still believe in a "Young Earth" he still has the upmost respect for Science.

I just wanted to share this with my R&S folks because I have see a lot of Young Earthers who are "against" Science.

I am astonished to see some of the answers I recieve on this section. People keep telling me "believe in God," and they provide the most pathetic, unconvincing answers in the world. I go to UCLA, so I know I have a brain stuck to my head, but what is with these people?

If people are going to tell me to believe in God, to "look for Jesus," or anything like that - they better give me a damned reason.

Let me show you some answers I got for asking if it's "okay" to NOT want a god to exist:

1)That's the beauty of free will, my friend.
(That won't stop Him from existing, but I think He'll understand anyway.)
THANK YOU FOR YOUR EVIDENCE, I THINK I JUST BECAME A THEIST.

2)God exists whether a person chooses to believe He exists or not. And, for what you'll be doing for all eternity, that will depend on the choice you make in this life. I pray you will make the right one.

HMMMMMM? What I will do in the world to come depends on what I do now? Interesting! Never heard that one!

After reading hundreds of "answers" here, I can't help feeling that - leaving the "Man-Made" religions out like Islam, Mormonism, Jehovah's witnesses, Scientology and all those wierdo-types that try to screw with your mind or want your assets when you die - there is a very good case to look seriously at the Christian way.

It sure makes sense that the "creator" must be more powerful and more intelligent than any of us or anyone who has ever gone before us because NO-ONE else has ever "created" their own universe or produced intelligent beings to populate the universe they have created.

Man ! Our scientists are still having problems with getting small pieces of tissue to "live" so that they can heal burns victims.
I THINK THERE MUST BE A GOD.

I THINK THAT GOD MUST HAVE "CREATED" THIS EARTH AND THE REST OF THE UNIVERSE.

I think it would be very dangerous for us to "white-wash" the Christian's ideas of GOD, Creation, and Future Judgement.

DO YOU ?

Ok so im not very knowledgeble on the bible because i never actually sat down and read it and im not even sure I believe in God, but im only 18 so I have some soul searching to do and i probably will read it in the long run but anyways my question is:

Before Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins (i think thats right) and his blood washed away our sins (again ithink thats right) and before God impregnated Mary with baby Jesus, how were our sins being repented or washed away....before then were we all doomed to go to hell because our sins werent being "washed" away?

at my school, which is public yet definitely primarily Christian, almost every single person said that it was dumb that people want to have "under God" taken out of the pledge when we discussed it in history. they also said that if the teacher wanted to start a class saying "Dear God," that would be fine b/c no one is being forced to participate.

what do you think?

but think about this...if you're a Christian and you think it should be ok to lead a prayer in public school as long as you dont have to participate...would you be offended if it was a satanic prayer? or some kind of wiccan oath? i mean you dont have to participate so it shouldnt technically be offensive right? what if the pledge said "one nation under the devil (or over the devil i guess)"...would you think it should be changed?

im jw your opinionsss thanks!

Don't get me wrong I not some crazy freaking idiot. I see videos everyday of how military people in Iraq beat up people even children for kicks, they kill animals, like goats, sheep, cats and dogs for fun when they are bored there. They have no accountabilty for any of their actions. Then there is the whole thinking for yourself thing, which they don't. I mean people really thinks it's a good thing to be in iraq. And then when most come home they act like a bunch of cocky brainwashed jerks, anyone else feel this way or am I going crazy. and I'm suppose to bow down to these people. some maybe, most not.

Is it possible that there’re three Gods? Which of them is creator of all what exists? Which of them rules and controlles everything in the universe? What do they do if they have conflict between one another? Don’t you think that it can cause the end of the world? Is it impossible? Doesn’t they can have conflict like mankind? If they’re not comparable to mankind why you say that he has son? If he has son why he couldn’t save his son from murder? Don’t you know that every child looks like his parents? If Jesus is Lord couln’t he save himself from other people's murder? How is it possible that God, almighty, creator of everything can be killed by helpless people in compared with almighty God? If you say that God has son, why christian monks do not want to marry and have son? If it is bad why they say that God has son? If it is good, why they don’t want to marry and have son?

And not only contradictive, but blatantly immoral. They claim that the bible teaches morals.....but practically in every scripture, there are stories containing rape, sodomy, homosexuality, murder, intoxication, or fornication.....the six of MANY things that Christians, themselves, are against.
How can they not see the flaws, the contradictions, the fallacies, the inaccuracies? And they follow it so blindly, and without question. Why?

I believe the teaching that a garment (such as a sweater) should be made of only one type of material, is found in the Bible.

Does anyone consider THAT teaching to be relevant today?

Don't you often wear cotton/polyester shirts?

So how are some scant and ambiguous references to homosexual acts all that important?

Many modern scholars consider that these references were not refering to monogomous, loving relationships.

What do you think?
