Where in the Bible are we told humans can go to heaven?

I think there is more evidence for a heaven on earth after the second coming.

Until then, we are dead..sleeping.

Man IS a soul, according to Genesis 2:7. Scripture does not teach the gnostic idea of a separate "aspect" of a person disassociating from the body at death...Plato and pagans do. Man is mortal. When a person dies, the whole person ceases to live.

What happens when we die is accurately described in Ecclesiastes 3:19-20...we return to dust. (See also Ps. 146:3-4, Ecc. 9:5-6, Ps. 6:5, Ps. 115:17) The Bible likens death to sleep to give us the proper concept that the dead cease to be active in any way, shape, or form (John 11:11-14, I Cor. 15:50-52, I Thes 4:14).

We are also told in John 3:13 that ONLY Jesus Christ has ascended to heaven, not anyone else. Acts 2:34 tells us plainly that David has not ascended to heaven. He is dust in the ground and will become alive again when Jesus Christ returns.

I Corinthians 15:50-58 teaches that the DEAD "in Christ" will be raised to life when Christ returns and not before. Hence, no person is "in heaven" right now (or "hell" either).

(Side note: Because man is mortal and can die, the lake of fire is the second death (not live conscious torture). Rev. 20:14-15; also Mal. 4:1-3, Mt 3:12, Mt 15:28, Is. 47:14, Ps. 104:35, John 3:16, Ro. 6:23)

Jesus Christ is returning to earth to establish the kingdom of God. Those who "meet him in the air" will return with him to serve with him in the kingdom ON EARTH. That anyone "goes to heaven" immediately upon death or at Christ's return is not supported by the true meaning of any scripture, but by isolated, out-of-context misapplications of scripture.

Those who die before Jesus returns, their spirits go to Heaven.

it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.



When Jesus returns Heaven will be on earth and Jesus will rule.

After the second coming there will be a physical Resurrection and a restoration of the earth so yes heaven will be on earth and we will walk around on it in physical bodies.
