If we are talking Diana Prince, then she is an artificial construct that the Greek Gods gave life to, much like Galatea. Hippolyta sculpted her out of clay. Diana is therefore ever-youthful and possessed of the highest limits of humanly strength, stamina, endurance, and dexterity. She is not a Goddess by nature, but during a certain DC story arc some years back, she "died" when the magical fields permeating Earth were disrupted, causing her body to revert back to clay. However, a year and a gazillion plot twists later, she reincarnated as Wonder Woman after spending time in the Greek underworld and on Mount Olympus where she was given the status of a Goddess, but she forsook that power in order to return to Earth.
Now I grew up in the seventies, and for me as well the only face for Wonder Woman is Lynda Carter. I know quite a bit about Wonder Woman, as well as all the DC pantheon, because I've read comic books since the seventies, and am a big fan of any DC cartoon series such as Batman and Justice League. However, there was a Wonder Woman before Lynda Carter: blond Cathy Lee Crosby played WW in a made for TV movie. Ricardo Montalban played the villian, a drug runner/smuggler by the name of Abner. CLC's outfit was not classic WW, but it was patriotic looking at least.

Bearing in mind she is a comic book super heroine I suppose you could classify her as a demigoddess or a potential goddess since in the greek mythos heros and heroines could become deities.

Wonder Woman did not exist until the 1940s and her drawing as a Comic Book heroine rather than a figure of mythology.
