I am astonished to see some of the answers I recieve on this section. People keep telling me "believe in God," and they provide the most pathetic, unconvincing answers in the world. I go to UCLA, so I know I have a brain stuck to my head, but what is with these people?

If people are going to tell me to believe in God, to "look for Jesus," or anything like that - they better give me a damned reason.

Let me show you some answers I got for asking if it's "okay" to NOT want a god to exist:

1)That's the beauty of free will, my friend.
(That won't stop Him from existing, but I think He'll understand anyway.)
THANK YOU FOR YOUR EVIDENCE, I THINK I JUST BECAME A THEIST.

2)God exists whether a person chooses to believe He exists or not. And, for what you'll be doing for all eternity, that will depend on the choice you make in this life. I pray you will make the right one.

HMMMMMM? What I will do in the world to come depends on what I do now? Interesting! Never heard that one!

3) God has four cardinal (main, most significant) attributes:

LOVE, JUSTICE, WISDOM & POWER.

The greatest of these is Love. Jesus is the perfect example of God....and he showed love on earth.

REALLY? WHO SAID JESUS IS GOD ANYWAY? I MAY BELIEVE IN ZEUS. HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THOSE FOUR ATTRIBUTIONS OF GOD? I'D LIKE TO KNOW, VERY MUCH.

problem: I asked that question because I wanted feedback from other people. As far as your little "intellectual assualt" is concerned, I believe I only have to see your username to make myself feel better. You are the problem. I asked this question, addressing that sort of problem...

So, for the day in the future when logic and reason don't fill the need remember this: God made us for more. That more is love in relationship.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.
LOGIC MAY FAIL US. THEREFORE, BELIEVE IN JESUS!!

SO MUCH FOR LOGIC. SO MUCH.

You have a brain STUCK TO YOUR HEAD. Try and get it inside your head, and use it.

As for what you believe about God, Jesus, religion or whatever. Take a chill pill. Don't care. You go to UCLA. Marvelous, you are a credit to your eduction!!

The fact that you are still in school, especially UCLA, and have not yet graduated to the real world does not prove that you have a brain. It proves that you still have a head full of mush. If you want to find God, don't look on Yahoo answers. Seek Him. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Read scripture. Read Josephus. Did you get to know any of your friends by asking anonymous strangers on the Internet about them? No? Then why would you expect to get to know Jesus that way?

My brain was functioning just fine until we tried a 40 man Raid in Duskwood (for 60+ levels only) on the World Boss Dragon named Emeriss and some idiot lvl 23 noob kept running in and getting us all wiped. After an hour of that, the brain just kind of goes numb and weeps.

The guy thought he was the new LEEEEROY JENNNNNKKKKIIINNNNS or something apparently.

There will come a point in your life when reason and logic fail to be an adequate answer. The heart yearns for something more. God made us that way.

So, for the day in the future when logic and reason don't fill the need remember this: God made us for more. That more is love in relationship.

Wow, sorry our feeble little intellects offend you. I stand it awe of UCLA. You must know every thing there is to know..so why are you here? What was this question that no one could answer to your satisfaction? Oh yes "if it's "okay" to NOT want a god to exist:" Couldn't you answer that yourself?
In answer to the PROBLEM POST..
I love my nickname! but here is my answer..You are in California..that is part of the USA..You have a constitution and a bill of rights that guarantees you the right to "not" believe in God. Do I personally think that it is ok, for you not to believe in God. YES..You have your own mind to think and feel and believe as you want..DO you want an intelligent dialogue. Why not ask an intelligent question..If you just want to bait a hook and then complain you caught a fish..(pun intended) you are wasting everyones time.

You must believe in god because it says so in the bible and since the bible is the word of god you would crazy to question its authenticity. If that reasoning is making you dizzy that's because it is spinning in an eternal circle. This is their best argument. If you stay here you'd better get used to it. It's sorta like arguing with a five-year-old. Don't let 'em bug ya.

Why would you ask BELIEVERS if you thought it was "okay" to not want God to exist?? I think if you wanted a different answer, you should have asked a different group of people....WHAT DID YOU EXPECT THEM TO SAY??
C'mon now...

Their condescension doesn't bother me too much, the limp answers don't bother me too much. Its the REPEAT answers that drives one to distraction.

you seem to be trying pretty hard to be offended. you can just disagree with them without throwing a tantrum you know. sure, it can be frustrating. it seems to me that repeated exposure reduces irritability.
