Did I not tell you earlier that a Jew is such a noble, precious jewel that God and all the angels dance when he farts?---Martin Luther (Germany)

“What then shall we Christians do with this damned, rejected race of Jews?
First, their synagogues should be set on fire, and whatever does not burn up should be covered or spread over with dirt so that no one may ever be able to see a cinder or stone of it. And this ought to be done for the honour of God and of Christianity, in order that God may see that we are true Christians.
Secondly, their homes should be likewise broken down and destroyed.
Thirdly, they should be deprived of their prayerbooks and talmuds in which such idolatry, lies, cursing and blasphemy are taught.
Fourthly, their rabbis must be forbidden under threats of death to teach anymore.” – Martin Luther

“If I find a Jew to baptize, I shall lead him to the Elbe bridge, hang a stone around his neck, and push him into the water, baptizing him with the name of Avraham!.. I cannot convert the Jews. Our lord Christ did not succeed in doing so; but I can close their mouths so that there will be nothing for them to do but to lie upon the ground.” – Martin Luther

Jesus did not call them Abraham's children, but a "brood of vipers" [Matt. 3:7]. Oh, that was too insulting for the noble blood and race of Israel, and they declared, "He has a demon' [Matt 11:18]. Our Lord also calls them a "brood of vipers"; furthermore in John 8 [:39,44] he states: "If you were Abraham's children ye would do what Abraham did.... You are of your father the devil. It was intolerable to them to hear that they were not Abraham's but the devil's children, nor can they bear to hear this today.------Martin Luther

They [rulers] must act like a good physician who, when gangrene has set in proceeds without mercy to cut, saw, and burn flesh, veins, bone, and marrow. Such a procedure must also be followed in this instance. Burn down their synagogues, forbid all that I enumerated earlier, force them to work, and deal harshly with them, as Moses did...
If this does not help we must drive them out like mad dogs.----Martin Luther

Martin Luther: [ in his last sermon, four days before he died, ] called for practical measures: burn their synagogues, confiscate all books in Hebrew, prohibit Jewish prayers, force them to do manual labour, and drive them out of Germany.

“I do insist on the certainty that sooner or later – once we hold power – Christianity will be overcome and the German Church established. Yes, the German church, without a Pope, and Luther, if he could be with us, would give us his blessing.” (Adolf Hitler, Hitler’s speeches, edited by Prof. N.H. Baynes [oxford, 1942], pg. 369.)

God clearly made a massive mistake with his creation of Lucifer, who is a perfect being, that was tainted by evil. Clearly the being was not perfect since it was tainted by evil and turned evil. He was susceptible to turning evil. For some reason that doesn't scream perfection to me.

According to Darwin himself, any complex organ that could not have formed by chance and slight modification would break his theory apart:

"If it could be
demonstrated that any complex organ existed, which could not possibly
have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my
theory would absolutely break down." 17

A good example of a complex organ is the eyes, which cannot form by slight modifications, it has to have all of its parts to function or it will be useless?

If our lives could be rated or evaluated by the Yahoo abuse panel? Just how many violations, would you be expecting, and how many could you argue over, and say you didn't deserve?

My sister and her husband are having a baby, and I want to get them a gift. Here's the thing: They're Jewish. I'm not. Other than the obvious "don't get anything hazardous," is there anything I *shouldn't* get for them or the baby, or, conversely, something special to Jewish culture that I could purchase?

I have been a born-again Christian for many years. By nature, I am a rather high-strung, nervous individual. I would like to learn to be more peaceful and tranquil--refer to Philippians 4:6-7. I do have peace for my eternal security, but everyday stresses of marriage and children sometimes suck the joy and peace from my life. My question is this: I am considering a taking a yoga/meditation class. Would this be acceptable to God? I would not want to do anything displeasing to him, and I'm not sure of the origins, principles, etc. behind yoga. God says, "be still and know that I am God." I am thinking that yoga would perhaps help me to learn to "be still". Do you think taking a yoga class is wrong for a Christian?

The lovely and lithe Ms. Barbara came to me today asking me had she done right.

We have her on the front desk as she is no hard on the eye.
She tells that a B. Clinton called up for a reservation ordering a selection of the finest Scottish cigars to be installed in our Presidential Suite.

When the ever accommodating Ms. Barbara told Mr. Clinton that the hotel was non-smoking - Mr. Clinton said that he had no intention of smoking!

Well - what in all the blue bells in Scotland did he want with all the panatellas?

We are trying very hard to understand all the cultural differences but - by ma grannies bonnet - there are a fair few we are finding out about day by day!

We are beginning to worry about Ms.SLK in the cupboard with McTeal - one of them should have been out by now. Bets are being taken that it will be Ms. SLK and we are anticipating McTeal having to have the weekend off.

Ms. Barbara was alarmed when she was asked if she took American Express. She's resting!

How would you define humility?

How does your relationship with God relate to humility?

Also, think of the most humble person you know. Describe what makes you think they are so humble and what your reaction is to their humility.

Thanks!

“What is this self inside us, this silent observer,
Severe and speechless critic, who can terrorize us,
And urge us on to futile activity,
And in the end, judge us still more severely,
For the errors into which his own reproaches drove us?”-- T. S. Eliot

Self-acceptance is my refusal to be in an adversarial relationship to myself." -- Nathaniel Branden

Do any of you Chrisitans like the humour in it? Do you gain any insights from it?

Do any of you atheists think that you are actually making people think more about the pitfalls of organized religion by preaching to the converted? Are you just further polarizing the endless religious debate by making fun of something that people take really seriously?

Or is it all just harmless meaningless fun on a very big scale?
