I am on the elderly person's side. I want them to be well. Most of you are going way out of your way to convince them they are sick. If you are doing that here you are doing it there. The elderly person is smarter than you think. Of course you can see old age on an xray. But you can't bill Medicare for it.

Is it a moral prerogative to try to lift people out of the haze of delusion? Or are some people so intellectually challenged that they are actually better people in maintaining their delusion? If someone is so very crippled, is it more ethical to give them a crutch or encourage them to walk on their two feet?

SexyAbs asked this question:
"Why does the Bible suggest the Rapist marry the woman he has raped?"

and used his own English translation to try and prove it:

(Deuteronomy 22:28-29)
"If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her."

*****
Now here's the shocking part--

Do you realize how many mindless sheep who come to R&S didn't even bother to check if the translation was correct?

I don't believe in Heaven or Hell, so it makes no difference to me. But I have read the Bible, and according to that, it must be pretty hard to get in those pearly gates.

So what makes you think that you are getting in?

A public school in Illinois has decided to stop observing traditional holidays after a Muslim mother requested that the school observe Ramadan. Halloween will be referred to as the "Fall Celebration" and Christmas as "Winter Celebration".

Do you think that this goes too far because holidays like Christmas and Easter have been secularized and aren't traditional religious celebrations?

Do you think that traditional holidays should continue to be observed alongside other holidays like Ramadan?

Or do you agree with this school board's decision?

Fear is the most powerful emotion of all, and emotions rule. Emotions make the ultimate decision, and logic is used to back it up.

I used to belong to a small Bible study. I had shared some personal problems with my Bible leader privately and requested that she not say anything to anyone. I discovered to my horror that she told other people at church. Some people approached me and some even went to my parents and told them things I did not want them to know. As a result, I confronted the leader. She apologized, but I have dropped out of the bible study. I would like to give her a list of code of ethics she should be following, because she is studying to be a counselor as well.

a boy is pulling an overloaded wagon down the sidewalk, after every couple steps, the rear left wheel would fall off of the wagon, and every time the boy would yell "god damn it!", walk back to the corner, pick up the wagon, and reattach the wheel. As he approached a church, the priest approached him and warned him about saying such evil things.

The priest suggested that instead of cursing the wagon wheel, that he might use jesus's example. he said "next time the wheel falls off, try saying *god bless it* instead. so the boy agreed, and continued on his way, he didn't get but four steps away, and the wheel fell off again...the boy, obviously very angry yells "GOD bless it" just then the wagon pops up, the wheel reattaches itself to the wagon, and it lowers to the pavement....
The priests eyes wide with disbelief mutters "god damn"....

Wouldn't it seem more likely that any deity would smile on those nations or polities that specifically incorporated his/her/its worship into the framework of the government?
Yet, the US constitution never mentions the word "god", and specifically prohibits the federal government from establishing a state religion.

Forming light, and preparing darkness, Making peace, and preparing evil, I am Jehovah, doing all these things. YLT

I often advocate that GLBT should find their way out of the closet and onto the streets and busses and subways to whatever arena they are involved in, as pround and honest GLBT…but I must admit that I am in the “Closet.”

Secrets and Lies…I have two that I keep.
One is mine and almost exclusively mine alone, so don’t bother, I ain’t telling.
The other is less mysterious, but no less a secret to the vast majority of my friends and family.

I still smoke…not as much as I did between 16 and 30, but still, when the stress hits or the party starts or I’m just plain bored…I smoke!
PLEASE, do not tell my children! I don’t ever smoke in the house or around them, so they will never know…famous last words!

It’s not that I want to stop either. I like to smoke! Sorry. I enjoy an occasional cigarette…but I have the shame that comes with hiding it from my friends and family!

What are your dirty little secrets?

What do you keep in your closet?
…not the clothing :-)

if you have seen Me, you have seen the Father? Could this Scripture explain it all?

I Timothy 6:14-16 says, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ 's APPEARING, which He will MANIFEST in His own time, He who is the blessed and ONLY Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who ALONE has IMMORTALITY, dwelling in UNAPPROCHABLE light, whom no man has SEEN or can SEE, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

Here's a fresh idea. Religionists are always making the accusation that 'atheism' is a 'religion'... so, why don't we just embrace that idea, and engage them on their own turf? The goddess 'Athe'... divine patroness of knowledge, reason and critical thinking. Since Atheists already outnumber Jews, there should be no problem in attaining tax-exempt status... nobody could dismiss 30 million 'believers' as a mere cult. Surely, some christians will make the accusation that we can't 'prove' that 'Athe' actually 'exists'... but that argument can easily be defeated by reference to their own play-book... although in this case, 'exist' would only be in the sense of an abstract idea... like 'Logos'. We could even have 'Saints'... Darwin... Einstein... Paine... Bacon... etc.

There should be a figurehead... 'Pope' is already take. How about "The Freakin' Deacon"? We could have an election... the obvious candidates would be Dawkins... Dennett... Harris... Hitchens... maybe a few more.

1. Women are often used and abused in it for men's satisfaction
2. It gives men a bad view/image of women, they'll most likely disrespect them and treat them like sex objects
3. A man may want to act on something he has seen, if his partner doesn't go with his wishes then he is likely to cheat?
4. Men have a hard time controlling their hormones, watching porn may be a 'release' to them when they need it, but then doesn't that just show weakness and lack of self control? If you HAVE to watch it? It seems to be addictive and an addiction is never good.
5. I saw another q on here about porn, and someone said it bothers them how simple men's minds work. How a lot of them NEED to be so visually stimulated by all these women. I agree completey
6. Most of them are not real and have had lots of plastic surgery, breast implants, lipo, etc. What's so great about looking at these fake women anyway?

on the history channel, I watched this program about the last of the godfathers mob familes in italy apparent like years ago 80's 70's the last of the biggest crime familys came to an end in italy their was lots of destruction going on because of war between the familys the police didnt and couldnt do nothin, they were never cought, then the pope said during that that let these crime families repent or let Gods hand punish them, after the popes speech one by one the God fathers of the crime familes were arrested until all of them were caught or killed. I thought that was kind of weird that they were gettin away with all that until the pope said somethin, then all of a sudden they all fell makes no sense , a long time ago during the templer age, the templers were all executed , before the leader of the templers were executed his last words to the pope and king was in 2 days I shall see you both at a tribunal before God. in 2 days time both the king and pope died,
