I used to think it was disgusting, and then I didn't mind it (or the person I was with watching it) and now I realize how bad it actually is.

Also being a porn star is just as bad as being a prostitute.

Very morally wrong, most degrading thing you could do to yourself!

2007-10-04 05:49:25 · update #2

Yeah it degrades both women and men, but I find its mostly women that get the rough end of the deal as men watch it a lot more. And there are some sick people out there, all kinds of porn. What kind of message is that? Makes men even more dirty freaks, lol.

8. People think its good because it helps give people tips or something, that's stupid! You should try things out with your partner and find out what you both enjoy/don't like, instead of watching other people have sex. (which is kind of perverted really)
9. It's indecent

Women need to work on themselves aswell and not encourage this kind of behavour, especially by participating in it. They need to have more self respect.

It's not about just ignoring what you don't like, and letting people do what they want. Nothing will improve or change that way! But yeah we have no choice, I just wanted to express my opinion and beliefs on why I think its wrong and bad to society and to see how many people agreed.

I had a problem with porn (the modern Roman orgy) a long time as a guy, even after married. It was NOT a simple issue to deal with, because not only was it (somewhat) fun at the time (when my job sucked)--even married guys in private encouraged me to watch porn and often openly expected other married guys to be watching porn or showed off that they had a huge porno collection. I had a lot of pressure from other men (many of them 20 years older than me and famly members) to be in porn...and today porn is so common that it probably is replacing television in terms of preferred media.

Whereas I'm definitely not against some things sexually I eventually concluded the entire porn industry and satisfaction from it is almost totally wrong.

#1 problem: Although I'm not against sex, there are 2 huge problems with porn. The first one is that it has no sexual morals as an industry as a whole at all. That means, virtually any sex that is legal is shown, and who knows what the performers go through. Hundreds of things that I consider immoral are done simply for the pleasure of it. According to the porn industry--if it turns you on, nothing is wrong with it. I highly disagree.

#2 problem: It's a consuming fire. Anytime a guy (or woman) looks at a porn shot, it has a tendancy to be like dropping a match in a dry prarie, meaning you want more and more and more and instantly your time is wasted for the day.
This went on for a long time with me, and I lost a lot of my life hooked on my next 'porn fix'

Now I'm not against good sex, or even some fantasies, but I certainly was in a load of trouble when porn consumed me. It completely started to interfer with my private life and work as well.

How did I stop porn?
Basically by realizing you can't go near a single nude pic and knowing the entire industry is immoral, if not every nude pic. In other words, you can't go near one single porn shot under any circumstances.
It was rather cold turkey for me, and it worked.

Despite this, porn now in society has become acceptable as watching television.

There's much truth in what you say, but consider that one reason why a lot of pornography is pathological is that it's been forced underground for so long.

Instead of rejecting and fighting against it, women would be better advised to engage with the subject and use their influence to make it more sane - in particular, to make sure that sex is portrayed as an activity involving two people, not a man and a victim.

Unfortunately, after so many years of underground operation, pornography has probably at least partially perverted its own audience. There seem to be a generation now who believe that anal sex is the ultimate erotic act. Some women do enjoy it, but for many it's painful, distasteful and humiliating - and certainly no fun. How could this have happened?

There is a sense in which having access to this material - even nasty stuff - provides an outlet for those who are excited by it through no fault of their own. Eliminating the material will help no-one.

But there can be little doubt that the sort of erotica that shows all persons involved enjoying themselves on an equal footing - especially that produced by women themselves - is more likely than not to have a beneficial effect.

There's a growing disconnect between men's ideal of a perfect sex object and real women. It won't go away. Eventually I suspect that technology may provide men with artificial sex partners to fulfill this role. While this may take pressure off women, it's not necessarily going to be a good idea.

Your absolutely right. Pornography is degrading and taints a beautiful holy act given by God. On the other hand though look at men and how physical we are. On the other end of the spectrum look at women and how emotional they are. Men in bed expect from their wives what they see in porn. Women in relationships expect what they see from movies that are Romantic. As a man has an outlet for they're sex drives. Women have one concerning their emotional needs. "Chick Flicks," set up a fantastical world were relationships are over romanticized. Women too and men will do this as well, will dress up and show off their figures. Men are visual people it causes their sex drive to go up a few points.

I still agree with you though. Just reminding though that women need some work too. It'll take both women and men to rid the problems of pornography.

I'm a guy, and I totally agree with you. But I would like to point out that there ARE porn sites that degrade men as well.

I used to surf for porn all the time many years ago...and just got bored of it. How many ways can you look at two people having sex? It just got boring. But I do agree that some people addicted.

I think women make their own decisions when they choose to be in the movies...I don't think they're horrible but I think it takes a very mature person to view an X-rated movie..
It's not always about the the implants and lipo or whatever, some people watch them for other reasons no matter who or what the characters look like.

Have you ever talked with a porn star? Why would the state allow it if offends most people? Political? It's like freedom of speech that anyone is entitled to. Adults are classified 'M' for mature, meaning they understood how far they could go with it and have the ability to be responsible for it's repercussions to the GP audience.

I agree. I started watching porn when I was 15. It led to excessive masturbation and a twisted mindstate that all women need a big cock to enjoy sex.
