I just read a question and someone answered you will burn in hell.
I do not believe in hell being a place of eternal torment .
Let's assume I am wrong .
1 My question is if God is love why do people think threats of burning would change a persons ways ?
(I do not respond to threats well.)
2 Would it not be better to point out the good things god offers ?

Would Allah resort to strapping explosives to himself? Would Jesus and the Holy Ghost be Gods tag team?

I have this crazy neighbor. She somehow got it into her head that I stole a watch that means a lot to her. I definitely would never do anything like that.

She posted a bulletin on MySpace about it and in it mentioned that she cursed ME and the watch. See below:

"Either way, i cursed the watch and her. NOTHING will ever go right for her until it is returned... As a Wiccan I do abide by the Wiccan law. AT ALL TIMES!! However this is a direct hit on me and I am allowed to break the 3 fold law and reflect things back to her. As I said she is now cursed. She will lose everything, never find happiness or peace. Will never have a good relationship that will last, will eventually lose her marbles. Nothing can protect her or lift the curse as noone knows what curse I have layed or what god/element i used to follow her"

However I DID NOT take the watch! Can anything happen to me? Wont this come back to her anyways, since I didn't do anything?

YUSUFALI: If any of you have not the means wherewith to wed free believing women, they may wed believing girls from among those whom your right hands possess: And Allah hath full knowledge about your faith.

Then dont judge all Muslims based on .0001% of the Muslims.

Anyone can take Bible verses out of context as proof of a violent religion.

Is he now?
Was he before?
Is he just an abstract concept like God, impossible to physically see in any way, shape or form?

Is he even a "he" at all? Maybe a "she"? Perhaps an "it"?

[ Note: This isn't about evilness... in case you're wondering, so do NOT bring it up. ]

I borrowed this quote that "Charlene" posted to one of my questions.

I think this it is very profound.

Is this possibly why in John 8 and Matthew 7 that we are specifically told not to judge others?

Do you think that many churches/Christians today are more concerned with showing people the backhand of God's judgement, than the face of God's love?

Could societies ills be based on the lack of love from others...be it from parents, or the rest of the world....and could this lack of love be because we find it easier to judge?

Your thoughts?

I would, but only in the springtime. From what I've read, it's pretty rugged, and particularly so in the wintertime.

My inspiration doesn't come only from Eyedontnose, but also from books by Nancy Atherton and Diana Gabaldon and Katherine Kurtz. All three describe countryside that is at once serene and awe-full.

Such as "If God existed, he would end all suffering" or "God exists and he inspired this book"....?

Are some of these assertions more arrogant/audacious than others?

Since our Sovereign God-Man Jesus Christ is our Universe Creator Father - Maker - Sustainer -Upholder, if Jesus had fully died on the cross, then His/our universe whould have disappeared -- and thus no you and no me here later !

See John chapter 1, and Hebrews chapter 1 where Jesus made the worlds (plural) is the correct translation, but only some Bibles have this.

Our God can never really die in Personality or in Spirit or in Divine Mind. Personality and mind-spirit relationships are transmissible or projectable. Human bodies are just temporal --"...ashes to ashes and dust to dust."

Where was our Jesus Christ during the one and a half days that His body was dead? Doing what?

I was getting waiting on the elevator when I heard a woman talking on her cell in English. When she entered the area where I and a couple other people were standing waiting for the elevator, she immediately switched to Spanish. I'm like, "Nobody give's a damn about your conversation!"

Was I wrong to get annoyed. I mean, if she was talking in Spanish the whole time, it would have been different. No prob.

And no, I don't have anything against Spanish-speaking people for those who are about to assume such.

I am thinking of rude & close minded political discourse, road rage, people buttting in line at grocery stores and leaving their cart in the line. "Me firstism". People letting doors slam on others etc... I am wondering if this is a symptom of societal rot from the inside out?

Do they agree with bible definitions?
How do they say you should go about getting married?
Do they agree with marriage license/certificates?
What do they say about the male and female roles in a marriage?
What about fornication and adultry?

Lots of questions but BRIEF to the point answers will do. No explanations needed unless necessary.

Thanks.

A friend of mine is a single mom with one daughter. Her older sister is a drug addict (years and years)- the drug addict sister had a baby and this friend took in the baby (out of love) because her sister could not care for her. This child is now in elementary school. The addict sister showed up again-pregnant with twin boys (infants) and was sent to jail. This friend now has taken THEM in also. She has nothing - except she does have some physical problems which doesn't help. She's a loving person and they need help bad. I have no money to help her. Where would you start if you wanted to help someone. Churches around here only seem to help their parishoners (from what I've gotten so far)....other than food pantries. SHE needs diapers, etc....the things you need with TWO BABIES......
