I am thinking of rude & close minded political discourse, road rage, people buttting in line at grocery stores and leaving their cart in the line. "Me firstism". People letting doors slam on others etc... I am wondering if this is a symptom of societal rot from the inside out?

I'm old enoug to compare a few decades and I definitely think people are much more violent, much less tolerant of differences, much less "genteel", than days gone by, and it corresponds to the general decline of moral values in everyday life.

15 years ago wasn't so hot along those lines, either.

there is a tendancy to always glorify "the good old days" when people were nicer, politicians were honest, values were respected, etc. But in pretty much every generation on record, there are people making assertations similar to the one you make.

no itas just some people never had manners, and in general society...goes less civil and polite for the last 110-15 years.

Yes and its only going to get worse just look at the kids and teens
