I am a ninth grade Special Ed teacher. I am looking to both help my students with learning disabilities to become better writers and also help them become better human beings who understand more about the world around them. I want them to see a wider world and to learn to care for their fellow man. I would like to do a project focused on letters and small care packages to soldiers wounded in the wars in Afghanastan and Iraq. I would like to then take the letters and packages to the soldiers at Walter Reed myself but do not know if I can have clearance to do so. Does anyone know what I would have to do to be able to visit the hospital and give these tokens of our support to individual soldiers? Thanks.

I know that the name "Jehovah" is inserted by translators in hundreds of verses...I do not know any places where Jesus used the name "Jehovah" in prayer. Help me out.

Insisting using the name Jehovah reveals me that Jehovah's Witnesses know God from the distance. You do not feel safe to call Him Father? Do you call your dad "dad" or by his first name?

I've always wondered this ever since I was little. I mean we know there was dinosaurs... we have proof. and dinosaurs couldn't have lived during the same time period as humans. were they in the garden of Eden as well as earth? i mean the garden of Eden was peaceful so they could have gotten along but the fossils are found on Earth. This would essentially be a "drop dead" date for humanity.
There'd be no way science could prevent this, or even allow us to escape our demise. So what would you do? You would have a normal lifespan, and probably your children, but your grandchildren, and their children, would face an abrupt death.

As a theist, would you continue to teach them that god is loving and merciful, and that he just decided it was time to destroy the earth, but he wanted to let everyone watch over a century as doomsday inexorably approached?

Ok when I was first born I was very light, my mom said that the doctors asked whether my dad was white (he's actually black) and I've seen pictures, I was really light. And then within 2 months I was dark skinned like both of my parents. Now I'm middle toned (like caramel) and I'm 15.

I asked this question the other day and pointed out a couple verses stating all have sinned. The overwhelming answer I got from Catholics was Mary had to be sinless so Jesus could be sinless. God created Mary sinless because otherwise Jesus would have original sin.

This does not make sense to me if God could make Mary sinless from birth why couldn't He have just done that for Jesus instead? If Mary had to be sinless so Jesus could be sinless then wouldn't Mary's parents have to be sinless? Otherwise she would have original sin. When you think about it this would mean Mary's entire line would have to be sinless else no one in it could be born without original sin. Which since all are descendants of Noah means Noah had to have no sin and thus no one has sin.

Can you see the fallacy in this thinking? I ask you Catholics to show me the error in this logic. If Mary had to be sinless so Jesus could be. Then Mary's parents had to be sinless too. Right?
