hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but ANY fruit juice, such as apple juice, etc., is no more than sugar water with flavors. Tomato juice and V-Eight are exceptions, for they have pulp in them. The clearer the juice, the more wasted money you are drinking. Whether it is Fructose or Sucrose, the body doesn't care, it converts either into dextrose very quickly.
Veggy juices are probably higher in vitamins, but by the time all the processing is done, you would have been better off taking a vitamin pill with water. Ad men have us convinced that we can't live without their products...we can, and we live well. Good luck and peace, Goldwing

A protein drink I haven't had in years, is one I'd recommend.
You fill a blender with OJ or any favored juice, but OJ is the
better tasting for this drink. You add a dash of milk, then a
scoop of protein powder (it comes with a scoop), a teasp of
vanilla, and a few sliced canned peaches. To make it really
cold add some ice cubes. Then turn on the blender and whip
to liquify. Some people add some sliced banana for potassium. Which really adds to the flavor. After it's whipped
to liquid, just pour into a standard glass size. It can be used
as a meal replacement and is filling. If you need sweetner,
us a substitute for sugar. I got this recipe from a day spa I
used to use alot.

Buy yourself a blender or a juicer and/or a smoothie maker. We bought a seperate juicer and smoothie maker and wouldn't be without them now! You could buy the fruit you want and make your own drinks. There are some vegetables that you can make juice from and you could either drink as just juice or blend with milk, ice-cream, yoghurt, ice-cubes or any combination. We've bought loads of fruit we wouldn't normally buy and have made some nice combinations using a variety of ingredients. You could add alcohol if you wanted too. We don't drink alcohol at all but We have a recipe book that has some pretty good recipes. Hope this has been helpful. Happy juicing!! xx

I just made my autumn supply of my favorite beverage and though it's not a fruit drink, I'd like to offer it here:
SUGAR FREE COCOA MIX
4 cups dry nonfat milk
2 cups non-dairy creamer
3/4 cup cocoa powder
30 packs Sweet 'N Low
Mix well in a large bowl with a slotted spoon . Then pour into a container with a tight lid.
Put 1/3 cup mix with hot water (I keep mine in the coffee maker carafe). You can add 1 tsp. instant coffee for mocha. It is so warming and relaxing! No sugar!! This makes 25 servings. Good bedtime drink!

Not knowing which country you live in it is difficult to answer your question, also the circumstances in which you intend to provide these drinks. If you have access to a Smoothie maker you can make any drink nutritious by adding milk to fruit. Even though Bananas may not be local fruit where you are they can be obtained all year round nearly all over the world and are not usually expensive. Good luck .

Get a blender and put any seasonal fruits you like in all at once or just some, they are all very good for the elderly and you can even warm them up put it in a flask and let them take it to bed with them, so if they wake there is a nutritious warm drink for them without them having to put a foot out of bed. good luck.

Have you never considered that the 'elderly' might have their own preferences? I drink Chinese green tea in the morning. Later I might take a glass of red wine, or maybe a can of lager.
When we're old and grey, the last thing we want is some young whipper snapper telling us 'Drink it up dear, it's good for you.'
How do you think we got to be 'elderly'? Because we know what's good for US, and not what's good for your pre-conceived ideas.
Bring on the strained beef soup! Can't wait.

Not much fruit in beverages.
Keep the old 'uns warm and happy by giving them hot BOVRIL with a dash of worcestershire sauce to warm the cockles of the heart or if they do not like the sause try a slug of brandy (Fruit of the grape).

I don't know what's local to you, but cranberry punch should be a terrific seasonal drink. Cranberries aren't naturally sweet, so they probably aren't as loaded with sugar and carbs as many fruits are, but they're quite good for you (especially noted for kidney help), and, I believe, are loaded with Vitamin C, an antioxidant which fights infections and free radicals.

Orange juice, fresh, Kiwi Fruit chopped (If you can get them), Yogurt, honey, and some almond nuts(like all of us), put them in a blender, and with a banana. Add some Sustagen powder too, if you have it. Put in blender and it's a powerful pick me up and very nutritious.
Yes, must use all the pulp in the blender, appple skin and all orange pulp. Guiness is powerful in Vitamin B. But you don't give it to people who have shaky legs!
