Growing up Asian I always wondered about how our parents raised us. Read below:

WHITE PARENT: Dad wants his son to be a Football jock , however, the son is interested in Ballet instead. So the dad gets angry at his son and yells at him. The son is forced to play football to please father and is unhappy with his decision. Although he is far more talented and loves Ballet, dad wants to raise a football jock and not a sissy Ballet dancer.

ASIAN PARENT: Parents want their child to be a doctor, engineer, or lawyer, however, the child is a talented artist offered a scholorship. The child dreams of a career in art and follow their passion. However, parents get angy and threaten to disown him and say "Do you want to be poor all you life?" So the asian kid pursues a career he is not interested in or skilled at.

Why is it that whites are considered to be abusive and psycho when they want their kids to be jocks.But Asian parents are praised for doing the same thing to their kid?

So Adam and Eve are the only two people on earth right. Then they have their sons Cain and Able. Cain then kills Able and runs off. Makes sense so far but then Cable marries so chick tfrom where ever he ran off to. Where did this other girl come from or i am just way off track

ALL methods of measurement have KNOWN limits, and mainstream science doesn't measure things outside of these limits.
However creationist pseudo scientists are known to have dishonestly used carbon dating outside of these known limits, or in inappropriate circumstances, in an attempt to seek flaws, limits and misrepresent mainstream science, where such methods are not even used by mainstream scientists.
This is very dishonest of them, and such decietful endevours are easily exposed.

There are many methods other than carbon dating, and there are many methods of carbon dating. When a number of different and independant dating methods are cross referenced and they corroberate, the age is VERIFIED. Now re-read this paragraph.

Creationists must therefore believe that ALL independant dating methods must be flawed if they ALL corroberate, and somehow amazingly ALL independant methods must be EQUALLY flawed if they ALL corroberate.
How could they possibly explain this..?

In reading the answers to some of my questions, I keep seeing a "theme" of sorts from Christians. They say they know god is real because they feel him in their lives. God gives them the strength to overcome evil urges. God helped them overcome alcholism. God gives them love and compassion for others.

There are millions of Atheists that don't act on evil urges. Hundreds of thousands of people overcome alcohol and drug addictions without a god. Millions of us love, volunteer and have compassion for others without a god putting it there.

Since Atheists can love and overcome evil urges all by themselves, does this say they have a "superior" character? Or is "god" doing it in spite of them? ;) How would this tie in with "by their fruits ye shall know them"?

So what is the bonus to being a Christian other than attaining heaven at the end? Why is it you have to just 'believe' that God is good, when around you screams that He isn't?

I see the devil having power over us, if satan can go to God and petition Him to attack us, why is it we can't go to God to petition Him to say no? So who has greater power then? If God gives satan the power to do us wrong, where does the power lie? Its not with us then......

If God allows free will to rein on earth and then allows those people to use their free will as they see fit, then God has no control over free will? If God has power over free will, then He would use His Power to actually protect His children from satan instead of giving satan the go ahead to whomp us.

I realize God doesn't create evil. However He creates those that will be evil, knowing full well the catastrocities they will cause.

How do you suppose you'll die, it's likely that some one who reads this will die because of carelessness. And a certainty that all who read this will die of something, and none of our lives will have meant anything. And some time will pass and a new species will evolve and they will think they've got all the answers just as we do. Into a meaningless continuum. And we all lose our hairs over the silliest things. It makes me want to laugh and cry. To watch those around me act as I observe. I step back and back and back, trying to bring myself into the picture, but it's just a faulty representation of reality. I can't escape this body, I am this body, and with its failure I will cease to think and therefore to be. Just decomposing matter, back into the earth, all of my stupid thoughts and worries and expressions. I will not have mattered. Just link in the chain of cause and effect. And these words will never express the desired meaning, though they need not to as we all think the same.

I recently saw a posting that poked fun of the "man was formed from the dust of the ground" statement in the Bible. The writer called it mud, we were supposedly formed from mud. The writer evidently had a hard time believing this and was finding fault with the Bible. Question: When something dies it decays and turns to what? In the days before embalming , a persons remains would have decayed into a skeleton and what else? The remainder is usually a dark greysh substance laying semi compact and loose under the skeleton What is this substance? Ever seen the remains of a cremated body? What did the remainder look like? If water were to be poured on it, what would it become similar to? Once alive but now dead tree leaves fall off a tree, dry out, decompose into small pieces and over time embed into the earth. These dead leaves become what? Can you say DUST. Could grass grow over it the following year? The Bible isn't so wrong afterall.

Basically, that there is a God out there that loves more than we can possibly imagine.

BUT

If, for whatever reason, we don't have "faith" in God (because of course he provides no proof of his existence) we are sent to be tortured for eternity aka hell.

Now I'm not a great poet, but think about what I just said. Imagine the greatest love you could have for a person.
Now think about eternal torture.

And yet paradoxically, Christians believe in this God?!? Am I the only one who thinks this?
