Actually there are seven days in the creation counting the day that god rested and observed his work. The number 7 tends to show up many times in the bible and is usually translated in to the number of perfection.

It that answer doesnt satify you madaam .......because he felt like creating in six/seven days and he can do what he wants.

I'm not sure that he did this. I do believe that no matter how the Bible is analyzed, it is flawed. Strictly discussing only the New Testament, translators had complete discretion over content. If a story wasn’t complete, multiple stories were woven together to form one book. Pieces were moved around and put together like a puzzle. When a turn of a phrase seemed to even slightly disagree with the Church, it was removed in its entirety.
We now know that multiple scrolls of material, intended to be included as part of the Bible, were carefully hidden instead. This was necessary to avoid destruction of both the authors, and the information.
Scripted Codices, have slowly been discovered. They’ve been carbon dated and authenticated by experts to prove they were written at the same time the Bible was written. Numerous experts believe these writings were intended to be part of the original Bible. However, it is also true to say that these compositions are still the cause of great debate.
The New Testament was written two centuries after The Christ was crucified. Before the Bible was let loose to commoners, these powerful people had just simply raped it.
When one controls the religion of a people, they then control those people. This is why it was so important to make sure the Bible only told the stories approved of by the King and his Church. It also explains the hiding of certain texts. If anything written even smacks of freedom for the common man, it must be destroyed. For if it was found that the King was not god, the King could loose his ability to control his kingdom. As the translators were loyal to the King, the Bible was edited very carefully indeed.
Speaking only of the New Testament, the Bible remains one of the very best set of life instructions known to man. There is only one, most important law. It is: To love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might, and to love thy neighbor as you love yourself. If this Law is followed to the letter, it isn’t possible to break even one of the old Ten Commandments.
When Jesus was born, all prophecies from the Old Testament were fulfilled. The Old Testament passed away with the first coming of the Christ. The Ten Commandments were no longer relevant. This Commandment was the only one needed in order to not sin, and live as God wants man to live.
Blessed Be

Did you ever think about the fact that a day with God is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day. Could it be that each day of creation could have been 10's of thousands of years according to the Bible. We tend to bind what we want bound and then go out on a limb when we want to do that. We have no idea in human time, how long it took God to do the creation. The 7 days were God's days, not man's.

What? God Created the Heavens and Earth on the 1st day then he spent the next 5 putting everything on it. 1st He made Day and Night-which would take 24 hours to evolve. Once He set that a day would consist of 24 hours, don't you think that he work on everything else and it took longer than 24 hours-hence evolving into 6 days!! Think!

The Bible does not necessitate that God created the world in 6 literal 24-hour days... that is a misunderstanding of the text.

God enjoyed the process of creation. That is why He took his time... like an artist who enjoys the act of painting, or sculpting...

Cordially,

Because God does things in order. He does things to forshadow things to come. He took 6 days to create the earth. That is symbolic with 6000 years of man's lease on the earth.

He (God) rested on the seventh day. That is symbolic of the 1000 year millenial reign of Christ where we believers will spend with Him in peace and tranquility for that time.

Go to gracethrufaith.com and look up The Creation story and you will find a detailed explanation.
For instance creation didn't begin until the third day.
Want to know why? Look it up.
Are stop asking asinine questions that insult your creator.

He created different things on different days throughout the six days, and then on the seventh day He rested. I believe He did this to demonstrate how we should work six days out of the week and rest on the seventh day, also dedicating that
day to the Lord for giving us a day of rest.

Who knows? How could anyone know that since he didn't say? Would it be more believable to say he made it in 5 minutes? Or 2 weeks ... a month ... a year? What difference does it make?

You will find the answer in the word of God.
It is for our benefit, The seventh day was a day of rest for God and we are sure God doesn't need rest. These are not seven literal days and our creation is not finished.
