Did you have a Sparkstötting ? AKA a kick sled or kicker when you were a kid?

How about a bob sled? We used to race down this gully, around corners, it felt like we were as fast as the wind on our bob sled.

the kicker people - is anyone familiar with the strange piece of Scandinavian culture? We had one and they can travel pretty fast downhills - our next door neighbour used to lose control regularly and end up in the snowbank with her passenger flying off and into the snowbank.

I'm Norwegian back to the 10thy Century. I had a sled in NYC when I was a child, but few places to use it. I think the highest point in Brooklyn is the grave site of the fellow who started the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge and that's about 49 feet above sea level.

I'm English, Irish, Welsh and Cherokee, but my husband is full Danish.

He is very proud of his Danish heritage.

He was born in the USA, in a town called Elsinore.

His genes are the dominant genes, and our children are beautiful tall blond people who can not deny they are Scandinavian descent.

His people came to America, looking for the American dream and they certainly found it.

They found a place in society and made their mark here.

They were leaders and became prominent people.

My children are now married with beautiful blond children of their own and are proud to say they are half Danish.

We all have a flag display, with the American and Danish flag mounted together.

Hope I didn't tell you more than you wanted to know.
