By ID'd, I mean "Intelligently Designed" ...

I got into a debate with someone whose proof that we were intelligently designed lay in the fact that our bodies were built to resist viruses, germs, etc.

Why then would said deity only give our bodies the ability to fend off some viruses but not all?

And why oh why would he/she/it/they create a virus that could destroy his/her/its/their creation?

The type of women who are godly tend to hate themselves because they tend to be fat and homely looking. And the guys are such complete nerds that even the average straight woman happens to be tougher than they.

Parents give birth to children grow and educate them in all aspects and as the parents grow old handover the responsibilities to them and pass away. In a similar way can we say "God has created the universe in which we are the entities; educated, and made us capable enough, handed over all responsibilities (what ever they may be) and he is no more!"

Using a different account, I asked these series of intriguing questions. I was very objective and truthful but somehow this Christian man, SDW, got offended by my mind-nagging reasoning power. He called me a “Freak”, and he also said that my grammar is “bad”. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ahi_0H5Xmf72GcgwkqnZ2OPsy6IX?qid=20070829022207AANlbDF

Whether you’re a Christian or not, to call someone “names” and judge someone’s lack of competency in their non-native tongue in my opinion is rude, arrogant, and very inconsiderate. Being a Christian man that you are, whatever happened to “thou shalt not judge”, “love thy enemy as thy neighbor”, and “turn the other cheek”?

Let’s look at the historical development of the early church. I find it interesting that the Catholic Church claims headquarters in Rome with Peter’s chair there when in fact the early church’s original headquarters was in Jerusalem with James as the leader.

Acts 15 records an important issue that came up to the apostles. How were they to deal with Gentiles becoming Christians? Paul and Barnabus begin by sharing their wonderful stories of the conversion of Gentiles. After much discussion Peter gets up to offer his opinion that Gentiles should not have to follow the Law of Moses and so he agrees with Paul and Barnabus. But in the end, it is James who has the last word: When they finished, James spoke up: “Brothers, listen to me” (Acts 15:13). James then explains that Scripture foresaw the Gentiles becoming Christians and so they shouldn’t make them follow the Law of Moses.

From this incident we see that the first Church council did not take place in Rome with Peter as the head, but in Jerusalem with James leading the group. Paul confirms that James was the main leader at the time, for he writes, James, Peter and John, those reputed to be pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me (Gal 3:9). It was the custom in those times and even to a certain extent in our times to place the most important person first on the list. Peter is placed first when it comes to the list of the twelve original apostles, however, James becomes a believer after the resurrection, and interestingly appears to be the leader, and Paul affirms it by placing his name first on the list. The Catholic Church cannot scripturally make a claim that Peter was the first Pope when the scriptural evidence clearly demonstrates that he was not even the chief apostle.

Not only does the scripture show otherwise, but Paul exercises his right to correct Peter. When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong (Gal 2:11). How dare Paul rebuke the Pope, if indeed he was the Pope! From this passage I see clearly that Paul did not consider Peter “above” him. In fact, in this epistle he says, For God, who was at work in the ministry of Peter as an apostle to the Jews, was also at work in my ministry as an apostle to the Gentiles (Gal 2:8). They saw themselves as “equals” for the apostles in Jerusalem gave Paul the right hand of fellowship.

In speaking of the Pillars of the church, he writes, They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the Jews (Gal 2:9). This is a very important scripture. It shows clearly that every apostle had a limitation to their authority. Their authority was not universal. Paul did not usurp the authority of the apostles in Jerusalem, but he expected them not to usurp his authority over the Gentile churches that he established. This passage proves beyond a reasonable doubt that there was no “universal and total supreme” leader. They ruled where they worked. If they did not work in a certain region, they did not exercise authority in that region. Simple as that!

So, you know how there is that theory that your thoughts create your reality? how if you have good thoughts, then good things will come, and if you have bad thoughts, then bad things will come? Because each thought sends a tiny electrical impulse off into the cosmos, and somehow someway it comes back to you.(I am not hinting at God in the least)

So what if whatever we believe creates our reality? For example, if I 100% believe that there is a purple pony over in the field, then there actually is a purple pony in the field over there. Now, if i have a friend who 100% believes that there is no pony over in the field, then there is no pony. But what if the pony bends down and takes a bite of grass? The grass exists in my friend's reality, but the pony does not. So would the grass not exist either, because the pony does not and floating grass is impossible, or would he see floating grass?

Please, i dont need to hear im crazy or that this is impossible or that i should smoke less.thx

and just passed away. The guy was mad, and he was mad at God. Being an atheist, he had never prayed. He wanted to tell God off so he decided he'd pray just this once. He looked toward Heaven, shook his fist, and said "God, if you are so loving, so smart, and so powerful, why didn't you send us someone who would find a cure for cancer?" "Somebody conquered TB so why not cancer?" " Why not give us someone that knows the cure?" Just then this guy heard a voice and the voice said to him : "I already did." "I did send someone that knew the cure for cancer, but before he could be born, his mother had an abortion." "He never got the chance to do his work." ...I don't mean to sound cruel, I had a relative die from cancer. But, cancer isn't the real issue here...abortion is.

to fix some of their churches but not want to pay taxes?
in 2003 in califonia the central coast was rocked by a 6.2 earthquake in san simion. it severly damaged two missions.
one in san luis obispo and one in san miguel.
the curch was asking for the state of california to help rebuild or repair their churshes. not from donations from the people but from the state govrenment.
this is public record.
i ask again. why can you ask the tax payers to help fix your problem and yet not want to pay any taxes.
not everyone in califonia is a catholic so if you want tax money you should have to pay into those taxes.otherwise it just a form of stealing.
