I have big problems when christains turn a believe into a religion. They have there little sighns by the road, there crosses and Stuff. I'm a christain, but to me all the pictures of christ that they make look like a sissy guy with no smile, and all else, is just... well decieving to none believers as to what the life of a christain is.
any one think the same?

yes, I also am not telling them what they should or should not do. I'm only stating what I think. I am not that kind of person. I was just wondering what others thought about it. sorry if I offended any one. (I live in the bible belt in TX, I see a lot of different churches :-D

The cross to me is a idol. Pictures of Christ is just pictures and are therefore idols too. No one knows what Jesus looked like. Using idols in worship is wrong!! Worship God with Spirit and truth.

The Puritans felt that symbolism and manufactured objects depicting the Christian religion could become objects of worship in their own right - idolatry. Some truth in that.
The usual objection is to pictures or objects showing Christ on a cross. He shouldn't be there - having left the cross and risen in glory.

I think the cross is crazy when history states that crosses where not used untill 100's of years after jesus's death,it was just a stake ,,,,but people also think he was born on dec25 wen he was clearly born in april cuz of the tax time that forced him to be born in a barn

i also agree. people wear crosses around their necks for God. but jesus died an the cross and then came back to life. We should be glad that the cross is no more for God, because that chapter is long over, and we need to stop reminiscing in the past and start making plans for the future.

I agree, we shouldn't make any false images of Christ. Many people use a Cross to remember calvary or like the scripture says "pick up your cross and follow me" but thats not what that scripture means.

Can you say "spell check?" You state you are a Christian...I can't tell. The cross is just a reminder of what it cost Christ to redeem us. The things you don't like to see? You might want to look the other way.
