If you class JWs as a cult, then you need to class the whole of Christainity as a cult (they branched off from Judaism).
If a religious organisation feels that the churchs aren't telling the truth, then what's wrong with using the bible to prove that they aren't? Are JWs all of a sudden a cult? Shall we just dismiss what they say as hear'say even though they can show you the truth from your own bible (KJV etc)? What version of the bible do you think they started with?
The real cults are the ones teaching false man made doctrines like Hell and Purgatory.

Opposers of Jehovah's Witnesses use the word "cult" because of it's effectiveness as a scare tactic.
If fact, we are normal, average people that try to live by the principles found in the Bible.
We are not a cult in any sense of the word that couldn't be used to describe any other Christian religion.

A cult is a religion that is said to be unorthodox or that emphasizes devotion according to prescribed ritual. Many cults follow a living human leader, and often their adherents live in groups apart from the rest of society. The standard for what is orthodox, however, should be God’s Word, and Jehovah’s Witnesses strictly adhere to the Bible. Their worship is a way of life, not a ritual devotion. They neither follow a human nor isolate themselves from the rest of society. They live and work in the midst of other people.

No. They catch all this criticism from people because they actually have the guts to try to follow the bible's principles more closely than any other religion I've ever seen! They cut out all the bull$hit and do EXACTLY as the bible tells them, including the door- to- door preaching. I have deep respect for them. As far as the definition of a cult, if it means "a false religion", then most of Christianity is a cult! Why so many denominations? There is one truth, so they can't all be right because they're all teaching different things!

Yes they are. They believe that they alone are the true Christians and that everyone else is false. They put additional conditions on salvation and so forth that the Bible does not.

Not by the million members rule, since most of the other definitions are usually just a prejudice on the speaker's part, I'd go withthat one.

Please look up the meaning of the word cult. A cult is simply a group of people believing in the same thing. Every church would be considered a cult.
