I just posted a question on why God made me intelligent enough (in his likeness) that I question things that cannot be scientifically proven. One person replied that I must not have eyes that see or ears that hear, or something like that.

How can a Christian assume that there must be something wrong with me, when I've openly admitted that I would love more than anything to 100% believe in God, but I just can't quite say I'm absolutely positive? I can see perfectly fine, my ears work, I've studied extensively. So what, then, Christians? I am a good person; I am certainly not determined to be an atheist or defy God. What is your explanation for why he can't fill me with the Holy Spirit or whatever it is that you say he does?

feel that Women's Rights are something that each and every woman all over the world deserve and have a right to?

Also, would you be willing to lobby for a protect Women's Rights?

I ask this of all three groups, because the fundamental practice of any of these religions are Patriarchal and I think when put into practice fundamentally can be dangerous for women on so many levels.

20 or 30 years yet and the energy needed to extract 1 petroleum gallon will cost more than 1 petroleum gallon. It will be the beginning of the end of the petroleum age. Not too far: the most of us will see that day! Other energy sources are now still completely insufficient to replace petroleum and our technical devices are mostly not ready for conversion. What will it happen to the people living on earth? To global market and production based on the low cost of energy and transports? To the indispensable technological supports to human life? Will it be a sort of apocalypse with wars and massacres for the last petroleum drops? Before the petroleum use only 1 milliard people lived on earth, now we are 6 milliard: what will it happen to the exceeding 5 milliards?

I am a colombian-american. I don't go around telling people, I'm proud of both sides of my nationality no favorites here. Well this girl I barely knew was at my house with my roomate. The news was on and the story about the toy recall was on. Now I know she didn't know me. She came out of nowhere and stated that she was so happy that the dora the explorer toys were recalled not because of the lead paint or whichever but because the kids in america shouldn't be learning spanish, that they should know they're in america and to speak just english. I was shocked. Any parent you talk to loves dora and the education she brings. Now I agree that latin people should learn english if they're going to be here for a while and if they come to the US that they be legal. But her saying that just hit home to how close minded people are. It didn't offended me personally, but morally I was like whoa! thats just ignorant. I only know 2 languages, I am in awe at people that know 3-5 languages. Opinions??

I baby sit a very talented 12yr old girl, She is writing a novel about her life...Would you buy it? It is about her opinions on things..her life....etc.
I read the first couple chapters and they were GREAT! :D
But that's in my Opinion.....its about her parents divorce right before christmas...and how she handles it.
I think it is pretty good.
She writes about what she thinks about in life at her age.
She said to me that she wants to try try try to get it published...she said people would think it was ridiculous for a 12yr old girl to be writing a novel, but she is smarter thatn your average 12 yr old and would just want to try..
Would YOU buy it?

what i have been dreading happened yesterday. my aunt and uncle raised me and they are very strict and baptist. well yesterday my aunt started questioning me about my religion. i am an honest person so i told her the truth. kinda. we were on the phone for four hours both crying. she thinks im atheist because i know she would go CRAZY if she found out i was wiccan. she told me to stay away from my younger cousins (which really hurt because they are close to my age and we all had been very close) and that she doesnt think that she or anyone else in this side of the family can have a relationship with me until i have a relationship with jesus. is there anything that you can suggest i do besides lie and be fake about my believes to try to salvage the relationship with my family?? its just a really hard time right now and it honestly broke my heart. i would never try to push my believes on them so why cant they accept me like i accept them?

I was watching a program on abc called " the outsider's" It was about this man who was addictied to haroin and went to jail for steeling. Claims he saw two angels, and poof! Now he thinks he is jesus. Believe it or not, he has over one million followers. He gets them to tattoo 666 on them. That, and talks about how there is no such things as "sin"

The guy interviewing him asked him " What about murder?" The guy says, " Not a sin, thats a crime. " I was sooo pissed off that they put this guy on tv.
1. More ppl are gonna just say they are Jesus
2. You tell a family who's kid was killed and say his, or her murder is not a sin.
3. I follow god, not some weirdo claiming to be jesus.

Why I said that is cause they asked a follower of his if he was really jesus. She said, " I believe in God, and he just walked out of this building."

So I just wanted to know whats your imput on this..

Just your opinion please...not looking for if you like or dislike them...but, do you think America would put a woman and a black person in the White House. ...especially as President and Vice President? Or do you think prejudice would prevent them from these roles?

My opinion is that if the Republicans run an ultra-conservative candidate, like Romney, Huckabee, or Brownback, that nearly any Democratic ticket will win....

However, if the Republicans run a more moderate candidate like Giuliani or even McCain, that it will be a tight race. I, a liberal, would consider Giuliani or McCain, and would probably vote for them over Hillary/Obama.... However, I would never support an ultra-conservative candidate?

Your thoughts?

I ask in R&S because the core of the Republican party is the "ultra religious right wing-nuts".

Again, just wanting your opinion on who may win...not who you think should win...but who would.
