i wouldn't worry about them if i was you because obviously, if you rise up above petty country rivally which usu. only thugs and commoners delight in, it's clear that you are the better person.

leave the americans to their self-idolism.
no-one else loves them but themselves.

I've been to your side of the pond, and I can truthfully say that it didn't seem any better there. I was amazed at the picture your media paints of us, because most of it was bull$hit propaganda to make us look bad.
You say that we are brainwashed by fox news, yet you buy into all the crap that your media says about us.
When we say that we're the greatest nation, it simply means that we love our country through the good times and the bad, and we're not talking down on anyone else's country.
When everyone is against you, we'll see how long it takes for you to get fed up with it and fire back a few zingers!
You shouldn't put down what you don't know.
If the EU all banded together to form one big country roughly the size of the U.S., your crime rate and statistics you speak of would probably be no worse then ours.
Think.......
Have a nice day

im american. i never say that though. i think some americans may just say that because the assumption from americans is that america is great because we have a bunch of rights. The ability to make all of our dreams come true in this"amazing" place we call america. i guess some are just overly proud of our home.

to the person below me: your right not many americans have been over to where you guys live(the uk). the only place i have been to that was any different then the usa is mexico.

i do really want to move to europe though when i get older or at least visit alot. the way you say it is like your saying all americans talk like that. you dont know every single american so how can you say why are "americans" like this. you have maybe talked to 10 americans in your life and you draw up conclusions from those ten answers. maybe the people you were talking to were just messing around with you.

I AGREE WITH THE DUDE WHO WAS TALKING ABOUT HIS COUSIN WHO WAS PROUD TO BE BRITISH. HOW HE WAS TO.RADSTAR.

i may be a proud american but i am getting tired of it here.

if you don't feel that you are living in the best country in the world, then you need to get off your butt and move, wherever you live. You say brainwashing by fox news? You can always change the channel. or buy a piece of property next to the presidents and protest. How many muslims countries could i protest in and not got murdered? How many of those countries could I walk around with a jewish skull cap on and not get murdered? how many countries can i own a gun in and confront those who kick my door in? Im sure the domestic violence rate is pretty high, because you can report it without the threat of retaliation! Yeah we worship our flag. whats wrong with loving your country? And finally, why do you give a **** what i think? this isn't a muslim country, we can think anyway we want ; )

I have never been to your country and I have no desire to. And this goes for pretty much every other country out there. including Cananda. Now I say this not because I don't like your or their country, I just don't need to see it. I am proud to be American, I have served in the military and have no regrets doing so. Could our government be better? most defenitely. Their are things that are wrong with this country that's for sure and hopefully one day they will get fixed. But are you trying to say that your own country is perfect? You don't have murderers, rapists, and every other vile piece of crap walking your streets? Is their any country out there that doesn't have similar or worse problems? No, of that I have no doubt, I been to some and seen it with my own eyes. No I'll stick with America, it may be broken in some ways but they hopefully can and will be fixed. Until the day we can all play together nicely- God Bless The United States Of America. oh and you guys too.

I don't think it is the greatest, And I live here. We have BULL**IT people running the place look @ Bush, He is either trying to impress his daddy or outdo him by getting hussein. And What is it with him and his war. Saying we need to stay over there and fight no matter how many good men and women are lost from every country?!?!?! Yeah we may have a few more rights then other countries but look what that has gotten us. Murder, Child abuse, Theft, Major drug probs. Families living on the street the government doesn't give a crap about. Gov is too busy helping the upper class people who have the money they need pay less taxes then the rest of us. Single mothers who have been abandoned my their family and gov who can't even afford a decent place to live or shoes for their kids. Its a dump.

and I suppose you live in a utopia where none of that sort of thing ever happens. bully for you. the fact is americans are proud of their nation, they are proud of their compatriots and they have every right to be. The best fact about americans is that when things are at their absolute worst, americans are at their absolute best. When there is tragedy in the world, who comes quickly to aid? Who is called on first for help? America. Currently, America is the greatest nation on earth, it is the most powerful, the richest and the most diverse. So, I am glad you don't live here....you would not last long.

Ignorant.

I am an American citizen. Yes many of the stupid young teenagers on Y/A will say thing like what you mentioned.

Some of us here are embarrassed by our country and are ashamed that other countries look at us with such a horrid view.

This is not the best country on earth. I have been to 16 other countries and there are many that are WAY better. We have a corrupt *** government and disgusting politicians.

But I guarantee your country has its share of problems....starting with your ignorance to make such an assumption about ours.

I can understand why they think it!

It is, quite rightly, drilled into them from a very early age!

There is nothing wrong with blind belief - everyone who follows a religion should know that.

There is nothing wrong with patriotism - I'm proud to be British! Probably just as proud as my cousins in the USA!

Every country has it's problems - It is the people that make it a great country.

Please don't rant and shout (capitalise) if you don't get the answers that you want - Just accept that MOST people are proud to be who they are and of where they come from!

Best wishes.
*edit* Kamran - I notice that that you say that you "live in England" I hope that you are proud of that fact (as I am), that you are proud to be English/British and that you show the Union Jack as a display of that pride rather than any type of "cover" - no malice intended - just a hope!

Why do people like you judge a country by the television stations you watch?Maybe you should get your butt off from the couch and travel to the U.S. and see for yourself. It is easy to make sweeping assumptions about "all Americans" and how we supposedly all act. We are a great nation. I dare you to come see it for yourself and compare your own observations vs. the opinions of a news station. I suppose you take for granted the information you read in"The National Enquirer" and other publications as well. Also,"Why is it that you sound so threatened by the U.S.?"
