I am a believer and i love God very much but for some reson i'm having trouble hearing from him.

I have a friend who can't seem to deal with someone talking about anyone other than her. If a topic comes up, she's the first to cut someone off and start a running commentary about her doing/experiencing the same thing, etc. She's otherwise a nice person but can't seem to stop talking about herself/her kids/etc. whenever other people are around.

If there's a polite way to deal with someone who's that self-centered, how to go about it? (She doesn't do it when it's one-on-one conversations; only in a group.)

The questioner at the link below asked about scientists asserting the world was flat. Naturally, answerers asserted, those weren't 'real' scientists. [The way Jim Jones wasn't a 'real' Christian]

Okay. Only a few months before Kitty Hawk the leading not-yet-scientists were declaring heavier-than-air flight to be impossible.

How is it, scientists are only wrong in retrospect? How is it they're always right, this moment?

So i believe in god, but i don't really like following one single religon, i'm open minded so i just incorporate concepts of different religons/cultures into my life. like i celebrate christmas--but i'm not a hardcore christian that goes beyond and looks at christmas as a time of jesus' birth and all that, i just look at christmas as a time of giving and being close to your family.

Would it be agnostic...? but i heard agnostics don't believe in god.

I'm a mom. I would NEVER take my kids to a nice restaurant at night if they couldn't behave. (Family restaurants are fair game.) Why would I waste my money and ruin everyone else's dinner? Also, if I pay for a babysitter to have peace and quiet with my husband why should I have to eat my dinner listening to little Joey antagonize his sister? Anyone else agree?

That is what atheists say. But what is think is that "atheism" was a word to made up things that are not possible for us to do. Like creating life.

Phillipians 4 If you are an atheist or other you don't have to look at this !!
10-14I'm glad in God, far happier than you would ever guess—happy that you're again showing such strong concern for me. Not that you ever quit praying and thinking about me. You just had no chance to show it. Actually, I don't have a sense of needing anything personally. I've learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I'm just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I've found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am. I don't mean that your help didn't mean a lot to me—it did. It was a beautiful thing that you came alongside me in my troubles.
I have at age 56 and I'm telling you I have few earthly securities but with God as my husband I even have a current example, I just sold 3 yards of fabric on ebay for $76 now who done that ?

Jesus Christ will decide our faith based on our acts in life. He said “Do not judge”. So why the Christian Church and the followers are so judgmental? They should rest assured that no sinner will get away when Last Judgment Day comes.

And by now means I am generalizing all Christians…

A question was recently asked why all those who are not Christian could believe that we were created by anything other than God. One answer was..."intelligence". Is this person saying that all those who are not Christians are not intelligent? I strongly disagree...your thoughts?

Anyone else find it strange that God gave two choices

A) eternal joy
B) eternal suffering

And somehow we're supposed to be seduced by eternal suffering? Anyone consider that this is the same scare tactic that all abrahamic religions use?

I started thinking about why did I just send them away. I was like I should have listened to them and explained a few things to them about how the JW is just a big cult. Perhaps help them to worship God in the right way. Has anyone ever tried to talk to them and get them on the right track? I may have just let two souls go on to Hell. Or do you think they will get all offended and just blow me off? Any experiences with that? If so Id love to hear them or if I shouldnt beat myself up over this. Peace out............

Ok there was the Earth in the center of the Universe, science won. Rainbows were miracules, science won. Etc. Etc.

Seriously has there ever been a "debate" that science has lost?

If you believe in Noah's ark, you probably also believe that the earth is less than 10000 years old. Science has shown that separate countries existed 10000 years ago. So, how did animals that only exist on certain countries get to the ark? No kangaroo bones have ever been found outside of Australia, so how did they get to the middle east to catch a ride? What about sloths from South America? Surely something moving that slow wouldn't have made it even if it was on the same continent, which is wasn't! What about kiwis from New Zealand?
