Jews do not believe in the detestable doctrine that people are punished and tormented for an eternity. Some Christian groups, like the Jehovah's Witnesses also reject the doctrine of eternal damnation. God didn't give such choices. Only spiteful people could come up with these notions.

There are more than two "choices" - Christ said, "In my Father’s house are many mansions" - This is the plan of salvation. Jesus will never cease his work until all are brought up to the enjoyment of a kingdom in the mansions of his Father, where there are many kingdoms and many glories, to suit the works and faithfulness of all men that have lived on the earth. Some will obey the celestial law and receive of its glory, some will abide the terrestrial and some the telestial, and others will receive no glory.

There is no scare tactic-- Eternal damnation- is the loss of eternal life (consequences) ... It is simply a choice-- If you want to try to make more of it- you waste your time..
When you drive-- you can follow the speed limit or speed & get a ticket.. it's a choice
When your parents told you NOT to do something-- or there would be consequences.. again it's a choice
Anyone thinking this way--simply put has a problem with ANY authority.

This is a scare tactic to increase the number of religious followers in the same way that religion spread at the point of a sword.
I would personally choose purgatory as described by Dante. All the cool pagan philosophers are there, without suffering, and you face an eternity of doing whatever you like.
That is, if religious non-existent afterlives actually existed.
(they don't).

Stop misrepresenting Christians by saying all those things. Cant you understand that there is not eternal suffering? Is just so hard to understand? Dont you know that The Bible say that there will be a lot of surprises at the end of days in the final judgment?
I bet you wont be saved for using fear to convert people.

Yes it is a scare tactic from all types of religions. On the one hand they talk about how god is all loving and then in the same breath say he will send those who have sinned to hell. Hmm so is god all loving or not that is the question.

Many people choose a Big Mac over being fit. That's like choosing dying over living (if done to the extreme). I think you're simplifying things a little too much here.

Before one decides between "Heaven" or "Hell", one truly needs to decide whether they actually exist!!! What you term "scare tactics" I choose to call "Controls", and there ARE three major controls in Society: LAW, POLITICS, and RELIGION; if you think about it, you will realize that each of you people are governed, controlled, by at least ONE of these three. As for the existence of "Heaven" and/or "Hell", consider this: ARE Myself and my brother Sesshomaru actually REAL??? DO we actually EXIST in THIS world??? Therein lies the TRUE answer. YOU decide...

That's the great lie of the pseudo christian's, that you get to choose, when in reality, God predestined all.
Now to your next obvious question. If you're not chosen, you think you've made a choice, which makes you responsible.
