I started thinking about why did I just send them away. I was like I should have listened to them and explained a few things to them about how the JW is just a big cult. Perhaps help them to worship God in the right way. Has anyone ever tried to talk to them and get them on the right track? I may have just let two souls go on to Hell. Or do you think they will get all offended and just blow me off? Any experiences with that? If so Id love to hear them or if I shouldnt beat myself up over this. Peace out............

Spirit Wanderer no Id listen and help you see the light. Happened last night. Went on messenger and tackled every question the guy had. He finally gave up. If you dont have the answers how can you have the relationship with Him. I doubt I converted this man but perhaps I made him think. I had answers that he probably never heard before. To many claiming to be Christians but have no idea what its really all about. The relationship.

My dear friend, you will never win someone to any belief, by trashing their personal beliefs.

This is what I have done for years, and it is neither insulting or rude towards anyones personal beliefs.

I simply say.....Yes, I would love to hear about your beliefs....as long as you are willing to allow me to tell you about my beliefs. They will either be willing to share beliefs, which will be a rewarding experience for you both, or they will simply say NO.....turn around and walk away.

At least this way, you have given them the opportunity to witness and have also TAKEN the opportunity to witness to them, without hurting anyones feelings. That is the mark of a true Christian.

I engaged JW's in discussion when I was in High School, really just to learn their take on things. I wanted to learn more about the entire thousand year reign thing (what will happen after that???). Then my mother found out about it and made sure they didn't come back.

For the record, they have a set of questions to ask that are pretty restrictive, so they didn't allow for direct questions that were off the tract. LDS is the same (I tried to get them to talk about the Celestial Kingdom- no dice). So your idea of enlightening them is likely just an idea (think about how often it must happen, yet their conviction allows them to keep at it).

I have known JW's that did not participate in this watch tower business. Their reason? Unprepared. These people go through intensive training before they are sent out. Notice there will always be an older person along that is solid in their faith.
You will not convert or exhort or witness successfully to them. Your Spirit sent them away and you should thank God His Spirit is there to protect you from false religions.

You won't have success trying to "convert" them to Christianity. Mostly because they know more about the scripture than 99% of so called Christians. They have countless hours of teaching and refuting Christian claims and Bible verses. Its amazing that there is so little knowledge of the scripture in todays Christians. Most JW's will totally destroy most Christains in a Bible debate. I speak this to your (our) shame.

You ask if they'll get offended and blow you off. I used to go door-to-door when I was one of them. From experience, let me say, they're at your door, not the other way around. If you wish to talk with them, you may express yourself however you please. They will either listen or they will leave. They will listen for a while until they realize you're beyond conversion, then they'll leave. But you never know what seeds you might have planted in their minds and hearts.

God bless you for your desire to help free them from their oppression and have a true relationship with the Lord and not an organization.

You told them you were a Nazarene; and then you started thinking? God adds those he is calling. You have nothing to do with it. It isn't what you think you should say or do; but what the Holy Spirit tells you in response to what is said.

It helps to know how to handle two conversations at the same time. Making reference to Sunday School doctrine and what is in your own head, however correct, is mostly worthless.

Look at it this way. If hungry Lions were sent that day; which of you three would have a say?

Worship the right way?

Jesus clearly presented to his followers that they must teach, preach and pray for the kingdom of God.

If only the girls in the example are doing this how does that make them not worshiping in the right way?

Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

I read at one of the sites UNsilenced Lamb is always recommending that if every single time they came to the door of a Christians home--they were told a testimony it would be a POWERFUL witness.

They are told we are ALL unhappy and living for the world and satan has deceived us.

IF they were to consistently get testimony after testimony after testimony of the saving power of Jesus blood and how much each person's life changed it could really make a difference--

Remember what it says here:
Revelation 12:11, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."

Lift these witnesses up in prayer and ask for forgiveness and another opportunity.

I think they have a training program where they teach them how to identify a knowledgeable atheist. I've invited two pairs in and started questioning them about theology, both sets thanked me for my time and left pretty quick.

They were all very polite though.

I can't remember if Orgasmo was about a Mormon guy or a JW, but that would be a funny thing to do.

Lady bird: I'm going to have to call you on that "Jeopardy" thing. Reference please.

personally i believed that an intelligent person is the one who listens first and weigh things before closing his door and mind to any opinion.it only means he is afraid cause he knows he doesnt know anything.....im not a JW but when i read the comments here they're like God who can say who's going to hell. well,it only shows what religion you practice..and who's your God.
