Are children the servants of their parents or the miniatures that hopefully will grow up to become like their parents? Sometimes it seems like children have to serve their parents. That is because they need to learn to grow up, mature and become responsible by being obedient to their parents directions and wishes. Hopefully, as they grow, they recognize their parents wisdom. We are the same with out God. We are His children and serve Him and obey Him so that we can learn to become like Him, loving one another and serving one another as He served us throughout our lives.
Thus, we are both servants and immature godlike creatures that hopefully will grow up to become like our Father in Heaven and be able to return to Him and live with Him.
Which makes more sense to you?
