what about atheists with someone in their ancestoral line, like a great grandmother, or an uncle who had religious beliefs? is intelligence inherited, or has modern science fooled us?

To generalize, and label Christians as hate-mongers, then spew hatred toward them when they ask a sincere question? To blame today's Christians for atrocities that happened hundreds, or even thousands of years ago, by people who abused the name of Christ? To judge us because of what Hitler or Roman Catholics, or the KKK did, twisting meanings of the Holy Scriptures, and using it to manipulate, mistreat and murder people? Persecutions will come, and we know that. Especially when we neither would have supported nor condoned such aberrant behavior. But we listen when you say we're judgmental and pushy. We, or at least I, haven't called you whiners or asked you to grow up when you feel mistreated by one of us. If we did the same, you'd jump all over us. Yet you feel free to do these things to us. Is this hypocritical?

I'm not an athiest and I don't get down on anybodys opinion - I'm just curious. Where do athiests get their morals from? My morals are developed from bible standards and my fear is God - not a morbid fear, but fear of dissapointing my heavenly father. But do athiests think that something bad will happen to them if they do bad things like any type of punishment or do some have different beliefs like Karma? Any answer is welcome and I will not judge.

My friend wants to use one of these in a haunted field close to us. Many people have hung themselfs in the field and I think it could be dangerous.
There will only be around 6 of us. None of us are experienced or know what we are doing besides asking how they died, why they killed themselfs, how old were they, whats their name etc etc.
My question is , Should we really do this ?
Can the spirits follow us back ?

Now I know that the old ways of Jewish burial are no longer possible, especially in america, (wrapping the body in cloth and anointed with oils and herbs) but I wanted to know if there was any where in the Bible where it is written to or not to do certain burials? For instance cremation, is that forbiden by God? and is there an actual possible way we are to be burried or it doesn't matter at all how we are to be burried?

I ask this because someone once said that when we are to resurect we are going to have our same body (but glorified) and if one is cremated then they would have no body at all. As Jesus came back with His wounds! Does anyone know anything about this or is it a wrong belief?

Ok I'm going off to the Vuuv festival in Putlitz Germany on Friday and really need some Phrases. I did a bit of German when I was in High school so I know the basics like Hallo but could do with a brush up also I need to know how to ask things like "Can I have a Beer?!?" "Do you speak English" and anything else I might find useful. Please Please I'm Begging PLEASE DO NOT post anything rude or Dodgey that I can say as I'm the kind of Burk who after a few drinks or when I'm feeling cocky will say them and get nicked or something. I sometimes am concerned that my lack of belief will be discovered by my bible thumping director and used against me. Being that we are in a non-protected class (only religious nutheads get discrimination protection) and would have no recourse, do you ever let it be known that you don't believe?

i find that every tom **** and harry think they are, or that their precious child is. i also wonder why they think this is such a great thing. have you read the definitions of these? there are very few desirable traits listed amung them:

They come into the world with a feeling of royalty (and often act like it).
They have a feeling of "deserving to be here," and are surprised when others do not share that.
Self-worth is not a big issue; they often tell the parents "who they are."
They have difficulty with absolute authority (authority without explanation or choice).
They simply will not do certain things; for example, waiting in line is difficult for them.
They get frustrated with systems that are ritually oriented and do not require creative thought.
They often see better ways of doing things, both at home and in school, which makes them seem like "system busters" (non-conforming to any system).

So many christains are rejected and they are treated like worthless humans of society on this site. Why is there so much hate? Is it because:

1.)They don't like thier religion?
2.)They think that using Jesus makes the entire answer wrong even in phsycology
3.)They think that there is no god?

Whatever it could be. I don't get it. Christians teach you to be kind nice people but why do some people look past that and just deny the idea of god. I do believe some christains go over the edge by trying to bring jesus to the world, I also believe you should believe what you want. But considering an entire religion to be nutcased morons is just wrong. Why do people do it?
