The reason I would like to know is because I believe that in Islam you get a hundred virgins upon death and I was wondering if the Mormons have surpassed that record. Below you will find a link with some of the statistics.

The first seven presidents of the Latter Day Saints committed bigamy. These Mormon men had several wives and the sixth cousin of the founder who was the second President of the Church and who happens to have a Mormon college named for him in Utah had 51 wives to himself. He allegedly had relations with the wives of his cousin and founding President, Joseph Smith.

Prayer is allowed.

Just prayer led by teachers, principals and other authority figures are not allowed.

Of course, if your child, wishes to say Grace before eating lunch or a small prayer before taking a test, they are more than welcomed to.

They just can't say it out loud (silent prayer is just as valid), and they cannot try to convert people, or exclude people intentionally. (You know, get out, I'm praying, this is my space, would not be tolerated). But of course, no parent would teach their child to do that either....

Saying that you cannot have teacher or student-led prayer, does not equal .. saying no praying at allowed...

I've never made a prayer request before, and I felt kinda left out. So, Pagans, please pray to your various Gods and Goddesses for all the Christians.
Thank you.

Talk about "this and that has been proven" and "it has been statistically proven" and "it's 100% truth" that xyz is real or infallable, when their highest source of authority is a small book from 14 centuries ago and the accompanying "tales" that go with the book of (a) certain sacred character(s)??

They use biased "research" that is non-credible to come up with outrageous conclusions about any "non-believers" and anything to make their particular cult appear to be truth.

If their religions are real, why the need to lie and create "stats and facts"?? Can't the truth stand on it's own without props and crutches and lies?

If you reached the age of 99 and lived a Godly Christian life throughout, but then discovered w/out a shadow of a doubt that God never existed, how would you feel? Would you wish you had done things differently (perhaps done more fleshly things) or be satisfied with the way you lived? Keep in mind, all the things you always considered sins would be no longer be wrong.

(Please only respond with honest, thoughtful answers. Don't just say "I wouldn't regret a thing" just because it's the Christian thing to say. Really think about it. And this is HYPOTHETICAL. So please don't respond with "That could never happen. God DOES exist." It's a HYPOTHETICAL QUESTION!!! So play along. Thanks)

-A Christian who is intolerant of someone's homosexuality

OR

-An Evolutionist who is intolerant of a Creationist's refusal to accept Evolution?

I'm asking this not as a challenge, but as an objective question. If you say that in both cases, there is simply mild verbal abuse and argument against the person's beliefs, no physical violence or anything that serious, then which is worse? Is it not the same, since in both cases, a person's beliefs and lifestyle choices are being denounced?

If it's not the same, why?

And if it is the same, then what should be done about it? Should everyone accept everyone else's beliefs with no argument, or should argument and disapproval be allowed in both cases?

Hmm...

I am a Christian, so I live on faith. But it's pretty undeniable that there are some things about God and his ways that just don't make sense to us as humans. Questions no Christians can answer and/or can't agree on. So what is the difference b/t having faith and following God in purposeful ignorance?? IS there a difference? Think about it.

(Only real, thoughtful replies please. Please no rants about how God doesn't exist. We know where you stand and we've all heard it before.)

Lot's of times when I walk into a store with my boyfriend, it seems that people just have to stare at us. I am not usually a person that is easily annoyed, but when people just constantly stare at us, and have absolutely nothing to say, it annoys me so much. There was an employee in one store, hiding behind the merchandise, just watching us as we put things in the buggy. So I kindly walked over to him and asked him what the problem was, and he quickly starts stuttering, and acting as if he doesn't know what I am talking about. So we move on, and he seems to make himself appear in every section of the store that we go in. This of course is not the only situation, that has occured but it was the most recent one. Now this guy was possibly staring at us because he thought we would steal, but a lot of times I am wondering if this is a cultural thing where people find it ok to stare at people.

It sounds so vanilla...sitting around worshipping God...Wheeeee!!! What fun!!! For the love of God, were are the parties and the drunken orgys? I don't want to sit around worshipping...that just sounds lame...

Sitting around now is lame...It won't be any different in heaven. I think I'd rather go to hell... The devil sounds way cooler...

It's the thought of eternity that scares me. Even if sent to heaven for eternity surely there's only so much you can do before you start to get bored but imagine the thought of being there eternally, no end in sight, it would drive me insane. Anyone else think like this?

Does anyone have any experience using pendulums for guidance divining? I generally go with Tarot (runes have never worked for me) and I've begun using a Pendulum over the past few months. While I find that sometimes it's dead on, it only seems to be about 70-80% and when it's off it's way off. Any advice for effective use?
