The "Stepford Wives" was a creepy movie about replacing wives with lifeless robotic-like woman who do as they are told.

The rituals and rules of Islam help to manufacture the same type of creepy obedience. Its hard to understand if your comparing the religion to the Christian experience or any other. In fact, shockingly some non-muslims find the effects of this brainwashing something to be admired.

Imagine the life of a "pious" Muslim. He wakes up early to the "call to prayer" and prays to the violent version of God (Allah) he believes in with all his heart. For the rest of the day, on cue, hes hitting the floor to pray to this fiction.

Thus, the rituals of Islam saturate the entire day, never letting the Muslim forget its Muslim. This is huge because religious belief is not something one feels every second, there must be an artificial prompt.

Associating these powerfully (and constantly) felt emotions with the dogma of Islam makes for perfect...perfect brainwashing.

Some of the earliest written records date from the 4th millennia B.C.

Neurological development shows a strong correlation between language accusation and development of the mind.

Could written language be "the tree of knowledge" that allowed humans to comprehend the idea of a "fall from grace"?

My personal answer would be something ending in the word 'off'. I never heard of God until I was five, and didn't recognise the concept.

However since I've noticed a few people on this forum who'd answer Yes, I've decided to ask this question anyway.

I'm just wondering though; How many of you became believers of your own volition, and how many were simply taught religion by your folks since you were very tiny, and have known no other way of life? And are you also the same people who subscibe to the belif that people like me hate God because he disapproves of us doing all the immoral things that us atheists constantly get up to?

So: Do you really think everyone is born with the innate knowledge of God?

Your call.

If you need an afterlife to give meaning to your life, what meaning will there be for living in an afterlife?

If you will never die, you will have no risks. If there is time, it is endless. If there is no time, your life, while ever lasting, will have no sense of time passing.

If there is perception, how can there be beauty with no squalor with which to compare it?

What purpose will you have in the next world?

What gives someone a reason for existing in eternity?

I have encountered many stories from friends, (and some heard) that consist of spiritual beings (ghosts, demonds, etc.)
I heard of one particular story that took place less than 40 miles from where I live. It was of a Demond that was possesing a young boy into doing satinic things. The mother blessed the house in God and Jesus' name, and the demond was never there again.

A similar story happened to my sister in law when and brother when they moved into their new house (old house, new to them). These spirts were in the house and "playing" with their young daughter. She heard them whispering and talking to eachother. There was even an instance where the baby's rocker was turned off and yet it was still swinging as if they were swinging it manually. My sister in law yelled at them and told them to stop, and they stopped. Things continued. They finally got my grandfather to bless the house and the property. They have not been bothered since.
Question coming...

Adam lived to be 930 years old, Seth for 912 yrs. and Methuselah for 969 yrs. (just 31 yrs. short of a 1,000). Were thosed years similar in length to ours today, or were they shorter periods, perhaps equivalent to our months, as some have suggested? God had made humans to live forever, but then, Eve screwed it up for the human race by all this? eating the fruit from the forbidden tree and gave it toi Adam. We could have lived forever folks! When I was in the evangelical church I found that while people preached about freedom they in fact created a whole bunch of rules and regulations.
They were thinly veiled as "the right way to live" but in fact they were more like absolute laws.

I am talking about, no swearing, no gambleing, no drinking (maybe 1), if you dont have a TV your spiritual, no sex before marraige. Better give minimum of 10% gross or chapter 11.

I know Jesus is the way to salvation however with these groups I found that was only part of it because people wanted to socialize you into their group and make everyone the same.

People would talk about evangelism but it was really apologetics or trying to convince someone that they are going to hell.

Has anyone else had a similar experience. Not all Christians are like this but a lot seem to be. And of course they turn a lot of people against God and them and call it persecution.

In fact its just a response to obnoxious behavior that anyone wouldget

Can you explain to me why there are fossils of dinosaurs and other creatures that date back over 65 million years and why there is no mention of it in the book of creation?

Please no bashing.

In response to the question about why people think they are better than animals, a lot of people brought up the power and control we have.

1. If this were the wild, we would not be at the top neccesarilly. There are animals that are faster, stealthier, and I think more clever in some ways.

2. Does us having power really make us "better". Is the bully at school actually better than us because he is bigger? Are government officials better than us because they have more authority?

I mean if you don't believe in either heavn or hell, or other afterlives. Isn't life just pointless, your just going to die and that is it.

What's the point of doing anything if its just going to be nulled in the end?

And why not do, what you really want to do whether, it be good or evil (in the eyes of the beholder), if its all nulled in the end?

So is there a meaning?
