There may some contradictions between God, Creation and Evolution in some people eyes.. But if you believe in only facts and ignore Faith you'll loose.
You'll find Christians who do deep scientific research to prove evolution as well. Christians believe by faith, and how it was done is not important. Evolution theory may also happen to prove how God created some of the things.. There is no conflict in Christ. One thousand years is like one day in God's eyes. How it was done doesn't reallty count.
Evolution vs. Creation: The Great Debate
The Evolution vs. Creation debate is often referred to as the "Great Debate." It's the emotion-packed question of "Origins" -- why, how, and where did everything come from? 20th century science has made the compelling discovery that, at some point, the universe began. Both sides of the Great Debate now agree that the universe has not existed eternally. However, this is where the agreement ends. As far as the "why" and "how" of the "origin event," this is where the division and contention begin. There are two basic theories in this Great Debate. The first is the historical default - the Creation Model of Origins. This theory maintains that the intricate design permeating all things implies a Designer. The second theory is the more recent, atheistic explanation - the Evolution Model of Origins. This theory postulates that the intricate design permeating all things is a product of random chance and excessive time.

I consider myself a Christian although I wish I could be labled something other than Christian, because many "christians" are ruining the "message" for all of us. I too wonder why so many christians spend so much time trying to discredit evolution. it's impossible to discredit evolution, as it is no longer a "theory". The big bang is scientific fact, and I say this as a strong believer in God. I'm not afraid of science and science does not shake my faith. I will also not allow faith to transform me into some "Bush sound-alike redneck". The same way we can chop down a tree, investigate it's rings and tell everything thing that tree has weathered on direct time line, we can peer into space, test matter, planets, debris, and tell where its been, what's it's been through, how it came to be, and what's it's made of. it's so remarkable to me that evolution is still debatable. If you are indeed a christian, or a spiritual person, the question should not be is evolution real but it should be how does God and evolution tie in together. We've answered some big questions in the last 50 years, just imagine what we will know in the next 50. I truly believe the the topic that "christians" should be concerning themselves with is "intelligent design". Intelligent design suggests, God created everything, including the big bang fact (not theory). Any Christian that has to do research in order to invalidate evolution, has little faith very little book sense, little common sense, needs to wake up and smell the evolution!

The point of any science is to uncover the truth behind things. Trying to prove or disprove any theory is not stupid or crazy...it's just the way science proves things. Evolution is widely accepted, but it's still a theory. Until it convinces a lot more people it is going to remain a theory. Be happy that either way the argument turns out, at least we'll all be closer to the truth.

Probably the same reason an Atheist reads the Bible to dispute it.
They read but don't comprehend.
The scientific evidence presented to date is not conclusive on a majority of theories.
Common sense has no basis with scientific experimentation.

Any genuine scientific research will only confirm evolution. "Creation science" is a contradiction in terms, and people who practice it lack even the most basic understanding of scientific principles and methods.

Deep science? No, it's more like they get some facts from science and twist the meaning to their liking to suit their argument. Funny how they don't use the same line of questioning to question the origins of their belief.

Christians doing scientific work? You must be joking. They would not know it if it hit them on the head.

They would rather waste their time than face up to the fact that evolution is now proven to be correct, so any proposed challenge to evolution is necessarily invalid. (Proof details are available on request.)

scientific theories could be based off of creationist hypothesis just as easy as any other .. its all out of the blue until we know for sure ...

Also why don't they research gravity since it too is "only a theory."
They don't seem to understand that science is the study of natural occurences with natural explanations and any insinuation of a god would make it not science.
