All living things die, thats what makes life special. The fact that it's fleeting.

all any of us can remember is being alive and aware - death is so permanent - yeah, the thought of no longer existing is scary - i think that drives belief in religion and life after death - people can't stand the thought of not existing.

Why would anyone want to live forever on earth is a good question. Someone who doesn't know what comes after death might think that this is all there is. If that were me, I would try to live as long I possibly could.
But on the other hand, someone who knew that life forever with God was on the other side wouldn't have to fear death.
Then they can focus on things that matter, things that last and make a difference.

Its not death that they fear technically, its whats beyond death that they fear, or what they believe is beyond death.Let me ask you this: If you thought what awaited you after death was fire pits of lava and a red guy with a pitchfork and an eternity of toture, would YOU want to die?

Thats only the religious people that I was referring to, theres also those that are freakin insane.Just for example...hm I dont know... Hitler?
Hes a special case, he believed that in a way if he "Purified" everything and anyone who wasnt just like him, which he thought he was perfect, that in a way his name would become immortal in a good light. He was right in one fact, in a way he has become immortal but as one of the worst tyrants in the world.

Now others like him, think that they should destroy the world and populate it in their image. Most of these people think about perfection and what they almost always think is perfection is themselves.
Otherwise they want eternal youth so that they actually have the ability to take over the world. If you have all of eternity, dont ou think you have all the time in the world to take it over?

Others just want eternity to gain riches, become rich and powerful. Most thoughts on immortality or what you said the want to live forever, its all mostly for greed or something in that area.

I hope that satisfies your curiosity, if anyone can add to this in a more positive light, be my guest. But I highly doubt there will be a positive light to the need or want of immortality.

Hie Life. Well to me when you came to this earth, we are going to be here in a short term and not for a long term, when we are in here it is good for you to do something good and not doing bad to others, because in life when the day we born until today it is good for us to do good for others and help ourselves too. When you do something good you can see the brightness which will shine in our life and when we are here there many things for us to explore and see the things that we can do before we go up, death is something not scary for us to do we can only judge ourselves on decision but the death decision is made by God, when God is thinking that this is your time and our time to go then we have to go and not just saying that ''no'' to it. Because in God's creation he has made such that when you came to the earth we don't bring anything with us that also goes same when we go up to there, so it is better for us to enjoy right now when we are still alive and not when we are up there we can't enjoy as when we are on the earth. Try this and hope it might help you.................................

ALL THE BEST......................

I gather you're not too thrilled with this life. Maybe you feel you'd be better off dead? I dunno.

This much I do know. As a Christian, I find this life is hell on earth. Death does not scare me. When my time comes I will gladly go because I know I will be putting this hell behind me.

If you remove all the pain, sorrow and disappointment of life and replace it with pure bliss and things beyond your wildest imagination, how could you ever grow tired of it?

And one more thing. We humans are bound by time. God is not. The spirit world is not. Without time constraining me, how could I ever complain about it?

I enjoy my life right now and would want to be around for a bit longer, but if it was time for me to go home I would be ready. Death isn't scary if you have eternal life waiting for you..

Death is not scary, as it has been conquered on the cross.

No, because life is that much better than death.
