If you really mean "lover" you might want to go with "amans." "amans" is regularly used by the Latin love poets as the word for "lover."
Amicus carusque means literally "friend and dear one."
Amicus amansque if you're calling a man a friend and lover
Amica amansque if you're calling a woman a friend and lover

"Amicus quod amo" means "I am a friend because I love." The phrase "friend and love" is (I think) "amicus et amor" or "amicus amorque" if you're a male or if it's not specific, and "amica et amor" or "amica amorque" if you're a female.

Assuming you really mean more like 'love' as a person instead of 'love' in general:
Amicus carusque - if for a male
Amica caraque -if for a female.
Your translation looks like it came from one of those online sites, and it's garbage.
