A documentary on NBC last week revealed that Eskimos are 20% brighter than the average American. According to the study, if President Kennedy had not committed America to the Apollo moon missions in the sixties, Innuits would have beaten the USA onto the moon. Does this revelation make Americans feel inferior to Eskimos?

To me it appears to be a terrifying vision of a US theocracy under the control of christian fundamentalists where 'morality police' would be dishing out 'divine justice' in a manner similar to the Afghan Taliban, including executions of gays, pro-choice supporters and so on.

It's funny, but the people that claim not to watch Big Brother and are saying that its foul and rubbish are the one's that makes the most comments on Yahoo and other chat forums. Are we living in a contridicting society, are we just curious or do we want to see people get hurt. What is, and where is the real reality?

I grew up in a Methodist (Protestant) church but have not been active in church for about 5 years.

However, I am trying to allow God to be active in my life again, and I am feeling a strong calling to visit a Roman Catholic church.

Having never even CONSIDERED a Roman Catholic church before only two days ago, I am definitely confused by this feeling and I'm not sure what to expect. However, the RCC focus on traditionalism is very attractive to me so I have made plans to visit a local Catholic church soon.

Basically, the breakdown of a Methodist church service is like this:

1) Opening music
2) Welcome/Announcements
3) Singing a hymn
4) Lord's Prayer
5) Offering w/ music
6) Song (sung by the choir)
7) Sermon from the minister
8) Singing a hymn
9) Call for church membership
10) Benediction

Service is about an hour long.

Can any Catholics please reply and tell me what a Catholic Mass is like? Is it similar to the Protestant service I just described? How long does a typical Mass last?

I was thinking about what some people say that the gospels werent written until the 2nd centuary and i remembered hearing that the Gospel of saint Luke was actually told by Mary.

What i mean is Our Lady told Luke and Luke wrote it down,Also that Luke painted the first picture of Our Lady.

I definately heard about the painting on EWTN but as for the gospel i cant remember where i got that,
