From what I've read of the Bible, what I've heard from the random preachers and ministers etc, it sounds like Christians truly believe the heart to be an emotional organ and not in any way metaphorical.

What's your opinion?

I have a few Hare Krishna friends and I know that their movement is very accepting of converts. However, I also know that they don't represent mainstream Hinduism (at least what you encounter in America), and I'm wondering how other Hindu groups might go about accepting (or not accepting) converts. I haven't been able to find a good website that discusses the issue and have never seen the topic in a book. Any information would be welcome.

I'm very interested in the Chinese tea ceremony. Unfortunately, most information is about the Japanes tea ceremony, not the Chinese.
When in China, I practiced the tea ceremony. When they pour the tea, they hiss the tea pot three times, as this represents 'the flight of the three phoenix'.
Also, I was explained to hold the cup with three fingers, as this represents the 'three dragons'.
Does anyone know more about the Chinese tea ceremony and what these dragons and phoenix are about?

Thanx.

another question....

2007-01-10 21:25:33 · 2 answers · asked by jin11_knight 1 in Religion & Spirituality

why do you point out the contradictions , inaccuracies or barbaric laws in each others book ...
when in doing so , it only serves as a means for people to point them out in your own
both are old books , with old laws ....
both have been translated and lost content or context
why when you are so close in your beliefs do you discredit each other and not support each other

those of us who are not Christian or Muslim ...
would most likely appreciate your religions more if there wasnt this fight to be right going on between you

OK,I have a long story about a fledgling friendship that I shot down in 1 swift stroke. I need to know if I did the right thing or not.
I have a fellow worker, he is gay and has no interest in me like that, nor do I being married. Anyway, I invited him to a speech club meeting of mine, he came. We chatted and had a good time. He invited me and hubby over to his house with his lover and kids. My hubby has a problem with this lifestyle, so he declined. Now, there is another variable, hubby's mom just passed away before christmas, lots of anguish there and grief from him. I said I would be there, which I have been, but have lots on my own plate as well.
Back to the new friend. I tried emailing and calling him, he'd answer, but said he'd call and never did. As a last ditch effort, mind you, over a month, I wrote him a note of somewhat "expectations". He wrote back the next day and said I was too aggressive and pushy and he was reconsidering our "acquaintanceship".

Why does Valtrex only work for heterosexual sexual relations? I just saw the small print on the commercial say so. How would the drug know if you're having gay sex as opposed to straight? Weird.

It seems to say at one point that they got kidnapped and the servants got killed while they were having a party in the house, and in the same chapter a few verses down it says they were having a party in the house and they got killed.

why is it that questions that involve sex are quickly dismissed. this is disturbing indeed e.g someone once asked what is dry sex and that question was removed i mean we are leaving in a world where these things are happening because either way they are doing it. its better for them to be told about the good side and bad side of the whole thing. you know that is why teenagers of today are dying from AIDS and other sexually transmitted deseases because instead of explaining such things to them educating them on the dangers we quickly shut them out so they are left with no choice but experiment gone are the days whn sex was taboo we need to talk about it. if this site is meant for people to ask questions about what they do not know and also help each other with what we know then let them ask! because look at it this way whoever asked that question did not get his/her answer she is going to try and experiment and the results will definately be unfavourable.
