Satan means adversary in Hebrew right? Would an angel of Yahweh really be named Satan?

What was his name, if he had one, before he was declared "the adversary"?

Note: Before anyone suggests that it was Lucifer, I'd like to point out that the name Lucifer in relation to Satan came about from a translation error only present in the KJV & Geneva Bibles which actually relates to the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar - comparing him to the morning star, which was called Lucifer as it means "Light Bringer" in latin.

What Christmas rituals do you have that makes that short period of the year realy feel like Christmas?

I read in the paper that in Germany its a ritual to go skinny dipping in the freezing River Rhine. I'm not so game!

My dad always used to eat half a carrot, and leave icing sugar footprints when filling my stocking. Those days are sadly behind me now, but I am trying to come up with new Christmas rituals and would welcome some inspiration while it is still fresh in everyones minds.

Remember that he was once among the highest in heaven and he wanted to be like God. He wanted to be like God, who's all-loving and caring. So if Satan wanted to be like God he wouldn't be all-hating, evil, and ugly. Why can't we admit that we are the ones that are evil and absent from God's image. We're trying to be like God again, to be an image of God like when we were first created but sin took that image away. Blah, what am I saying. You wouldn't understand me anyways.

It's kind of hard to know when it's usually only a spoken phrase with that unstressed syllable.

I know there are a lot of hypocrites in the church, I know I have delt with them. But there seems to be a lot a dickheads in hear that like to mock Jesus and his Father. Is it just this system or is it people in general, as I have never bumped into anybody like that. It is Just the crazy yanks as I am not in the states thank goodness, or is it unbelievers full stop. This is the worst system i have ever been on when it comes to mocking God. It is great to know God is not mocked, and it is going to be the people that mock him mocked themselves, as they are just mere mortals who will eventually die anyway and go straight to hell. The mockers will be mocked, that is great to know that. Amen to that. God said vengence is mine says the Lord, I will repay. Awsome. The wicked gets destroyed eventually. all they have to do is wait. anyway Christians how have to atheists been treating you?

WWJD what would Jesus do-he is the Jewish Messiah-and he talked about hell more than about heaven-Read Revelation 19-22nd chapters-he said hell is gnashing teeth, torment forever, weeping, and cursing, in never ending pain. You cant weep unless you got eyes or gnash teeth unless you got a body to hold the teeth too. He also talked about the joy of heaven in those chapters too.

Daniel 12:2 He spoke in the Jewish Scriptures as a prophet about Hell and also about the coming Messiah and his days also in his book pointing right to Jesus too.

Daniel 12:2 "Those that die some will arise to everlasting abhorance and some to everlasting life."

point is Jesus died for our sins -no one has to go to hell, everyone can go to heaven-but just like at Chanukkah and Christmas-if you got a present-someone got it for you, you got to recieve it-if you refuse to accept the gift-you dont get it.

"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life through Messiah Jesus."
hell?

God only wants the best for you. He gave his only begotten Son Jesus Christ for you. He gave you life and is offering you everlasting life. What more do you want? Will you spit in his face?

I was raised in the church Bethany (I'm sure you've seen it on television) and graduated from their high school. I recently have been going back to a new church and trying to get my life on track. The problem is that no matter how hard I try to believe, I always wonder "what if" none of this is real. I pray for God to help me get rid of doubts and just believe. Does this mean I'm going to hell?

" If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven". John 3:12-13
" For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me" John 6:38
Elijah went up to heaven via chariot 4 King 2:11 and will return from heaven to preceed Messiah's first coming. Malachi 4:5 Jesus declared that John the baptist his cousin was the return of Elijah. Mathew 17:10-13

Taking the above verses into consideration why are Christains waiting for his return from the sky? Most chirstains are missing him because they have fixated their eyes into the skies.
Baha'u'llah founder of Bahai faith has unequivocally stated that he has descended from the heaven in spirit just as Jesus did on his first coming to full fill his return. " He did come again unto you in the clouds of heaven" Baha'u'llah - gleanings

i have heard that if you live in a village, the Church may have you down in a book as a member, is this true? If it is how do i tell them i do not want my name in it? I would not want people to think i am a member of the Church.

For my project I have to design 5 book jackets to promote my technological society of the future. I decided to make my society based on the moon and felt that keeping the laws and values of the society to a not very serious manner would make it more fun> As far I have these 4 ideas which I am sort of happy with-
-Criminals get sent to Pluto
-We want a clean environment so throw your litter down to earth
-Everyone has to do various jobs throughout the year so it makes everyone multi skilled and far more flexible
-The society is looked after by an army of robocops
If anyone can think of any other ideas I will be very grateful. I am really struggling for ideas at the moment.
