Rap music:
-degrades the english language
-promotes tagging and vandalism
-degrades women
-implies postivity to primitive force (look at any metal cd, and youll see an imaginative cover with interesting artwork, look at a hip hop cd, and youll see a pissed off nigra wanting to fight)
-shifts values to "bling" and expensive shoes which leads to theft
-sounds like crap

well lets see, animals have fur to keep them warm or cool. Birds and ducks have feathers to protect them from the snow and rain. fish have scales to and gills to adapt in the water.
What do we have? My daughter asked why are we the only species that need to tear up the earth to meet our needs? We are not adaptable to the elements as are all other species. Why?

Mine is, when at work and travelling from the office to the toilets, I use the long straight corridors as 'catwalk' practice and pretend I'm on Americas Next Top Model!!
(Shameful, yes).
So far I don't think anyone's seen me do it, thankfully.

My girlfriend and I would like to commemorate our anniversary by getting the date of our first meeting inked but we can't find any free facility to translate "June 17th" into Hindi.

I was hoping that someone out there might be able to help.

Thanks in advance.

Racism and sexism are things of the past generation. But that generation has a firm grip on the means of production today. So does that mean that the huge differences in wages is really class-based?

I've heard people quote Revelation 22:18 (...If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book) saying that means the Bible is closed.

I don't know if they realize that chronologically, John wrote Revelation before the gospels of Matthew and John and various epistles attributed to Paul. Should all these books be discarded? Not to mention the same 'don't add, don't take away' scripture is found in the Old Testament (Deut 4:2). Wouldn't that mean that everything after Deuteronomy is false?

So I'm curious, where does the belief come from that scripture cannon is closed?

Obviously Jesus did many things that we don't currently have recorded in the 66 books known as the bible (John 21:25). If new records were discovered, would they be rejected?

As a dark skinned female, I have been told on several occasions that I am cute or pretty for a dark skinned girl. This really throws me for a loop because I don't think that's a compliment at all. It's like they're saying that most dark skinned females are not attractive an I am an exception to the rule which is not the case at all. There are plenty of beautiful darker complexed people. Has anyone ever experienced this and this is to include all nationalities.

American Fred Phelps and his Church regularly protest holding up signs like "Thank God for 9/11" and "God hates fags"... I personally think it is disgusting..OK, so Fred is entitled to free speech but if he was in the UK he could be stopped under a law that bans "inciting hatred"... why has the US not got a similar law?. Just read about him on a petition website http://glad.to/stopthehate so sign up to stop him and pass the address on to all your friends... I cant believe he can get away with protesting at dead soldiers funerals and asking to build a statue of a murdered gay teen with a message saying he is "in hell"... how must the families feel about this?

Have you ever known a former alcoholic/drug addict who becomes obsessed with religion after converting to christianity? Are these people merely substituting one obsessive behavior for another?

I am an athiest but usually do not tell anyone this because people often feel that thay can persecute or taunt me for my nonbeliefs-even if would never do that to someone who was religious. Are there any atheists out there who feel the same and hopefully there are actually more of us than we know of?

It's better to keep it there or can guys like it that way too? It's not a lot just a little but dark color so everyone can see it even from a ways away.

Say someone's ignoring you, so you ignore them back - in other words, give them the silent treatment. Is this the best thing to do? Or is there a more effective (and possibly more simple) method?
Does the concept of karma ring true? Do we *really* have to give what we get?
I believe that it is true for certain situations. However, some people still treat others with respect no matter what, even if they're treated badly by those particular individuals. A good example of this is Jane Eyre.
I try to treat everyone with the same amount of respect, but there are certain people you sometimes have to exclude. (This is just my opinion formed from experience - nobody has to agree with me =))

(Bear in mind that I am a cynic - even though I'd like to believe the majority of people are as nice as certain individuals [e.g. my boyfriend, who is literally THE nicest person you could ever meet - and is also my best friend - along with my best female friend], I know this is not usually the case.)

xenophobia: fear or dislike of foreigners

The country of Japan as a whole is supposedly dismissive of other races and cultures, considering themselves superior. Several restaurants, clubs, etc in Japan will actually post signs banning foreigners. Yet they love American musicians, movies and other artifacts of pop culture. Why is this?
