i would say yes. a meeting should be as clutter free and distraction free as possible. you seperating your attention between your breakfast and your client will do two things. one, it will make you appear slobbish and disrespectful to clients. how do you know they had breakfas and aren't eying yours. or they just had breakfast and the last thing they want to be reminded of is food. or just the slight distraction brought upon by the crinkling of plastic wrap and the added grease of the hands can b the break in the deal. secondly, it shows that you are unprepared for work. most people eat breakfast in the breakroom before the official workday begins.

imagine if it was the other way around. you come into work, you wanna make a sale, but your client is too busy eating a big mac and fries?

Yes, I would consider it rude and unprofessional, there is a time and a place for everything. If its breakfast time then you should not be seeing clients. If clients are lurking about in other areas of the office but can see you eating then it would still be considered unprofessional, Bon Appetite'

Yesit is rude, clients are the heart of any business and should be given full attention, if there is muffins and coffee laid out for staff and clients it is acceptable to sit down and have a cuppa and a muffin with them, otherwise the answer is no.

Yes, because if they're hungry all they're going to concentrate on is your food, and haven't you been told since your were a child its rude to eat w/ your mouthfull. Plus its not just rude its clearly unprofessional. Unless, you have a breakfast meeting where everyone is eating.

From the sounds of it, you aren't offering breakfast to anyone else and it wasn't a planned breakfast meeting, so obviously, it is rude.

Follow this rule of thumb: If you have to ask, it is rude or wrong.

I really don't think it that you should eat in front of your clients. Not very nice! What you should be doing is getting coffee for the boys in upper management!.

It's generally considered rude to eat in front of people without also offering them food. I think if you are super busy you can ask them if it would be all right for you to eat during the meeting.
